I would love to see what the modding community would do with a machine like. :) --- End quote --- Was'nt there a USB thing that allowed carts to be used on a PC, and it had a Genesis to N64 pass through? Maybe that could be useful. I think it looks better in real photos. I think the pink is purple with a ligh shining on it making it look pink. The black looks to shiny. It looks like it needs another color, like a red stripe or something. |

I read an interesting interview with Lance Barr, who designed the North American versions of the NES and the SNES. He explains what went into the thought process of why those systems as so different from their Japanese designs. At the end of the interview, he was asked: If you could give advice to those who design consoles... what would you say? LB: Play video games to understand what you are designing for. Don't get too caught up in making a stand out design. Video game systems are the opposite of cars--most consumers buy a car for what it looks like and not so much for the performance. With a video game console, although the design is the face of the system, consumers care more about the performance than the exterior design. the rest of the interview can be found here http://www.nintendojo.com/archives/interviews/view_item.php?1130801472 and I completely agree with him. The Retron5 design is just fine, completely and absolutely. |
