Basically a black rectangular box with a shitload of slots to stuff games into. How sleek can you expect the thing to be? I don't care if it has boogers dripping from its controller ports, as long as it plays everything I'll be a happy camper for $100. |

I love the North American SNES. I associate many good memories with it, but if I consider its appearance objectively and disassociate all of my warm, fuzzy nostalgic feelings I have for the system, it's an ugly grey/purple brick. I think the SFam is a much nicer looking design. Very smooth. So to me, the Retron5 looks fine, but I'm used to a lower standard. Compared to the SFam, yeah, the R5 doesn't look as sleek. I guess I care more about function over form at this point; that's part of getting older perhaps. |
