Strange that EU games wouldn't be supported, as it's essentially an emulation device - i am sure that could be changed with a software update.

It most likely has to do with the EU tv's ive always heard its a big problem because the system has to out put a in a diff Signal, and use a diff amount of energy

not modern tv's. refresh rates these days are way over what they were back in the day.

Even so the old EU snes games are built on that and that could be the problem they would have to add an entirely new slot just to accommodate EU games, for instance you can easily mod an US snes to play famicom but you can't do so for EU snes Games

That's because of region lock out, not tv signals.  Eu megadrive plays most genesis and Jpn md carts no problem.

No you would not need a new slot for PAL SNES games. They use the same amount of pins to read the cart. Thats ALL YOU NEED the same for an emulation machine. Yes PAL and NTSC machines are far different in their requirements to run the games (back in the early 90s) but this is essentially a PC running roms.  Instead of using "roms" it uses your actual carts

Ok then I see no Reason why they did not do so in the first place if thats the only problem

I actually have one of these on order through a kickstarter program and I've got an OUYA that I have yet to unpack. Whoops.
you didn't unpack your Ouya? when did you get it? I'll unpack it for you!

I'm almost positive that one of the E3 preview articles stated this did PAL just fine.

Still, the console itself looks like sh*t. I would be embarrassed if that was sitting under my TV.

have you seen one in person yet cause they loook alot better in person especially the snes one!! the digital renderings that have mainly been going around the inter net I dont know how to explain it, pretty bbad I guess, not to mention the only real pic ive found online is of the ugly red one which is ugly!!
Just trust me dont judge its looks till you have seen either the black one or SNES one in person, but also the controller is still ugly in person a little better but still hella ugly

I've seen it on video.

It kinda looks like an elongated, squashed trash can.

Looks fine to me. Basically a black rectangular box with a shitload of slots to stuff games into. How sleek can you expect the thing to be? I don't care if it has boogers dripping from its controller ports, as long as it plays everything I'll be a happy camper for $100.

Sleeker than this. The Retron 3 looked much better than this. Why not build up on that design?
But that is just my opinion. And opinions are like asses, everybody has one.

[snark]Wait just a moment while I buy a plane ticket to USA, just to see that. :P[/snark]

Well for me, this will replace the SNES in my console setup, and let's face it, the American SNES is not an attractive console. I love the North American SNES. I associate many good memories with it, but if I consider its appearance objectively and disassociate all of my warm, fuzzy nostalgic feelings I have for the system, it's an ugly grey/purple brick. I think the SFam is a much nicer looking design. Very smooth.

So to me, the Retron5 looks fine, but I'm used to a lower standard. Compared to the SFam, yeah, the R5 doesn't look as sleek. I guess I care more about function over form at this point; that's part of getting older perhaps.
