It's pretty easy to test it before you buy it anyways... <wink> <wink> <nudge> <nudge>

are you saying its been emulated?!
but...but...they said it couldnt be emulated...!

MESS was running it a year ago. I'd assume the better looking emulators would have full support of it by now. I've been out of emulation groups (Or, IRC chat rooms) for a while so I'm not up to speed.

Has anyone heard about flickering and slowdown?
The nes has a hardware limitation of 8 sprites per scanline, that includes the transparent parts you don't see. Once the 9th sprite is on the scanline, the sprite with the lowest priority will no longer be drawn. The flickering we're used to seeing is actually added manually to the games, the programmers have to alternate the sprite's priorities, so you're not always skipping the same sprite and making it invisible. Now you just have flicker. I just wonder how the RetroN handles that, betting it doesn't have the 8 sprite limitation programmed in. Most good emulators have that as an option, same with the overscan options, so I wonder if it's an option for all of these.

So apparently this is going to be released/shipped on June 6th (as vaguely confirmed by Hyperkin)

IGN has a story about the next week, but that doesn't seem likely. But here's hoping we're only a few weeks out.

As always, take this with a grain of salt, this IS Hyperkin
Blumpkin:
Is this a real release date, or does it only apply to "Mom & Pop" stores? I'm curious if my Amazon preorder could potentially get fulfilled, or if I'll be waiting for weeks or months longer.

I've read about 5 or 6 articles now, and unfortunately I cant find anything definitive. I, too, have an Amazon preorder. At this point, I just hope the IGN article is right, and next week the mom and pop shops start to get them, with Amazon on June 6th.
But with my luck it'll be in September before it actually ships.
