So, I heard this thing is only going to be $99. Anybody know if that's true?

yes that is true.

Damn! I normally don't care for clones but I'm really interested in this between the HDMI and SLG. I can't wait until some reviewers get their hands on this.

I think the system lost me when I heard it's just dumping the carts for the roms, and not storing it (So you have a load time for the cart).  So for me, it's really a slightly cumbersome way of doing something I've already been doing for over ten years.   But then again, I know the pain to set up a PC and front-end for seamless gaming, and if you wanted to have your own rom dumper so you're 100% legit, that's not something most people would be willing to do, and not at that price range.

I've had my pre-order in since September.  Amazon just emailed me asking me if I still want it, and apologized for the wait.  They also knocked $20 off!  So now it's in my order section for $79.99!

...that said, I still would have gladly paid full price to get in 9 months ago.

I got the same email. I honestly don't mind paying full price for its original release date, but at 80 bucks this thing is a bargain if the system turns out to be as awesome as i'd hope

I'd agree. With HDMI, a good upscaler, and a SLG for around $100. That's pretty good. Still, I'm waiting to see some reviews before I shell that over.

I've been very excited for this. I want to use my authentic roms and I want them displayed in the highest quality possible. Plus I don't like putting wear and tear on my genuine classic gaming systems. I just finished pre-ordering it.

Plays Famicom? I may get this for that. I have that stack of 150 games waiting to be played and It might be good for Power Plaid Plays, so recordings have sharper quality.
Does it play GB and GBC?

Anyone else think the controller needs work?  Slanted 6 button, with sharp corner where your hand goes, and strange looking "d-pad".

Solution to this is to use original controllers.

All you're really gaining with this is up scaling at $99 and loading times for your carts, unless you're trying to reduce your consoles footprint. The wireless controller is the only real advantage, and it looks pretty bad to me.  But as I've said before, I'm used to using scalers like good ole Salx2 and HQx4 for ages, so there's not much new here for me.

I tthink it's worth it.  Speaking as someone who doesn't use upscalers, this is a moderately cheap way to play my games that typically use composite or S-Video, and (for me, at least) I have all my systems hooked up in one room, this will go in my living room and allow me to have access to these consoles without putting all 5 of these machines in my living room.  My wife would kill me if I did that.  So basically it's a combination of:  one machine to play all 5 consoles, upscaled images, wireless controller, AND save states for games that I am sick and tired of trying to beat legit (I'm looking at you, Double Dragon 3)

I agree with this. Plus it is extremely inconvenient to hook up old consoles to modern televisions just because they usually only have one input for composite and no s video inputs anymore, thus relegating you to use a video switcher. And as you guys already know, old consoles playing on new tvs look terrible, unless of course you are using an emulator in which case it look a lot better.
