Does anyone have any experience of sending a PS3 with upgraded HDD to sony for repairs?  Did you remove the HDD first, or send it in and get the same one back?

I'm thinking remove it, but i cant put my hands on the original 40GB drive that came with it.

I dare say that they will have a stock hard drive to test the PS3 in their repairs department. If your concerned, contact them. Ask them what the story is, if they need the hard drive, tell them that you need that same hard drive.
