Just a reminder to be careful buying rare games. I found this link on NA and I'm sure lots of jerks will be trying to profit off these (you can actually buy them in packs of 10). Be careful and "stupid buyer don't buy"

edit: I'm not sure if I'm supposed to post a direct link to this kind of site. It's a bunch of rare games for $20-25 each on X
.

Assuming they are repros, the answer is:

Ok, yeah, no need to lead buttheads right to the den of thieves. Make them work a little for their scam supplies.

Green shells are where it's at.

did you make those by chance?

No, but I know who did. I'm pretty sure he doesn't have any left, and much like myself, he tends to do limited runs on projects then move on.

Hey, for those who have bought these. How do they play?

I'm thinking of buying a couple of their games, but just want to ensure they work correctly / save and everything before I throw down the coin.

They work the same as any retail version. I wouldn't worry about it too much. That, and most of the guys who make these are pretty good about fixing any problems that should arise. I'd check on NA for a list of reputable repro makers

I was mainly looking at those from a specific chinese site. They're cheap as, being like 18 USD with free shipping to AUS.

There are only so many ways to make them, and none is any less effective or functional than the next.

I pulled the trigger and got an assortment of repros:

Mother 1
Final Fantasy III (NES)
Chrono Trigger(SNES - PAL)

plus a handful of gameboy games.

I'll have to review them when they arrive. The mega drive games are super cheap. Literally like 7 bucks a pop or 5USD or something. I'm going to have to connect mine up.

Genesis games are a joke to make.  $1 crappy EA sports donor, $1 chip, cut a couple of traces and run one jumper.  It's super easy and super cheap.

" cut a couple of traces and run one jumper. "

You don't even have to do that if you match the size of the board to the desired game, making it even easier.  But you knew that ;)
I'm bender3455 on playstation network, feel free to add me!

There's no way to just drop an EPROM into ANY donor board that I'm aware of  :-\

edit: never mind.  I know what you're talking about.  I use 27C322s for all Genny repros, so that's why it's not drop-in.
