Some things to keep in mind:

1. NES cannot do anything better than composite. How exactly they're going to pull off HDMI is a giant mystery. Unless they radically do something different from literally every clone in existence, my guess is they are going to be feeding a composite video signal through HDMI.....which will look as good as you imagine.

2. SNES and Genesis aren't capable of HD - They do have RGB encoders and if you're lucky enough to live in Europe have SCART connection, you can enjoy wonderful 4:3 analog RGB which in digital terms is 240p. 240p is not a standard resolution, and the vast majority of HDTVs will not support it. Some TVs will upscale it to 480p (which can create problems) and remember, 4:3. 99.9% of HDTVs are 16:9, meaning you'll get a 4:3 image stretched. Not a big deal for me personally, but this kind of thing drive some retro gamers nuts.

3. GBA has no set HD resolution. The GB Player could do 480p but that was tied to the video output of the GameCube. Exactly what the GBA is capable of is a mystery, but if I had to hazard a guess it'll be 480p and its 2:3 aspect ratio will look fairly decent on a 16:9 screen.

I'm excited for the system, but Hyperkin needs to reveal a hell of a lot of info.

For those curious, stay tuned. I'll be buying one of these for review. Who knows, maybe one of my contacts will provide a review unit. Either way, I'll bring you the details.

No. Hyperkin has only made an announcement of the existence of the system. Details, image and everything else is forthcoming.

Day by day I get more sure I will get this eventually if not to replace my real hardware but to atleast as back-up.

Hope the console has been designed so the NES, SNES and MD video starts from at least RGB.

Just to add my 2 cents... HDMI output on an NES isn't strictly impossible, as... the folks at everyone's favorite website that makes repros without donor carts and is responsible for the blue Nintendo World Championship reproductions (I think that's clear enough without breaking the repro-site-naming rule) is working on a mod for toploader NESes to enable HDMI out (see the NintendoAge link at the top of the aforementioned repro site)

... Although their mod basically involves a circuit board sitting on top of the NES PPU, reading in the signals coming to and from that chip and then makes the HDMI signal itself.

I fully expect Hyperkin will just feed the existing composite video into some HDMI converter.
