Sorry, if this has been covered before, but I'm curious to know what furniture people who have six or more consoles hooked up at one time are using. I'm currently shopping around for TV stands, and I would like feedback from those that have maybe thought about this before. This will be for my old-school systems, so I'm using a 19" CRT TV/DVD combo. I am currently using stacked milk crates, and the systems are:

* NES
* SNES
* Genesis (with 32X add-on)
* Saturn
* N64
* PlayStation
* Gamecube

Plus, I have a VCR for those old-school movies. :)

Grab an Ikea Expedit TV unit and a bigger CRT. You'll need to modify the Expedit a little as its designed more for flat screens bit since most of the weight on a CRT is at the front its not a big problem.

Either that or just hunt your local classifieds/eBay for old CRT TV units.

Dr. Agon's set up is super functional and I'd do something similar if I had a room dedicated to gaming, however, I'd also recommend something from ikea depending on where in your house your gaming area will be set up.

I know there's no way my fiance would want / allow metal / wired shelving.

Ikea is good bang for the buck for the functionality and it usually looks ok.

Wow, just wanted to say how awesome Dr. Agon's setup is.  Definitively gave me some ideas when I finally get to set up my video game room!

I just have a bookshelf I grabbed for free on craigslist and drilled holes for the cords out of it. Works good.

if you have the know how build your own to the way you want it to work its what i did  originally i built a stand for my old 35 in crt ( which weighed a ton ) but after i got a flatscreen i modified it so that the tv is on a  raised platform behind the 5 systems i have currently hooked up and all the wires for the systems run under the platform the tv sits on ( alsoi have a sound bar on the platform )

not the best pic  but ive always been happy with it

Yeah, I was thinking about going this route. I have a design in my head. I just don't have the time or resources to take on a project like that right now. I may be able to do something next week since it's spring break...
