How much would you charge for a commission?the price would depend on how exactly you wanted me to set it up, but i would estimate around the £60-75 mark, also this CANNOT be done with a PAL/50hz NES without a SERIOUS ammount of modding (which would be WAY beyond my skills), so an NTSC 60hz NES is a must, also it would HAVE to be a toaster/front loader, the toploader A/V mod is also beyond my skills, plus i wouldnt want to try that for someone else, be a total nightmare if i fucked up!let me know if your still interested, dude.

I am indeed.

ok, so a couple of months ago sheep2001 asked me to build him one of these, rather than start a new thread i thought id put the pictures/worklog here...not a lot to report right now, the nes is here;as you can see, not 100% perfect condition, damage to the front;rear;and top;barely noticeable, but i thought id better point it out...onto testing, does it work?, after giving it a clean with the vacuum cleaner, (LOTS of dust!), i got my copy of mario 3;US version, works, naturally!after disabling the lockout chip, does it still work? tested with my copy of excitebike;UK version, works, excellent! nothing else to do until i get a famicom connector, got a couple of ideas about that, 1 will maybe work the other will definatly work!
MAN! i had a marathon Youtube session last night, ended up going to bed at 6am!woke up around mid-day, and took a look at what i had to do, to cut a long story short, 1/4 of the soldering work is done, ive figured out how to mount it and done a tiny bit of case work;first half of the cart connector wired(you know me and multiple wires!)first test fit...(those wires will be shortend, extra length means less chance of 'irreparable, dammit, resolder, grumble, cry'all i have to do now is solder, solder and MORE solder, cut out the cart hole and fit a cart flap! (is that all!?, pah! thats nothing!)
woo hoo!update time!so monday for some reason i really was not motivated, didn't do anything at all!oh well!, nil desperandum, my church duty was switched to saturday, so i was able to do the second half of the FC slot last night;i think i'll take the shell to work on friday instead...
and the majority of this is done!cut the cart hole today (friday), made a little mistake tho so not perfect...only way around this would be to get a replacement shell and re-cut...However, she works!mighty final fight in place......and on the screen!snake, rattle & roll, in place......and on the screen!(yes i suck at s,r&r)getting it to play NES games is a bit trial and error, thanks for that Nintendo!just need to find a cart flap now...
How's this coming on? What's your secret cart slot cover?
sheep, im so sorry this has taken so long, however, fingers crossed i have a slot cover solution, which arrived last night, i will give it a go tonight and let you know
Dont worry about time - just interested on progress. I'm not in any hurry.
BUGGER!got a working cart flap in, But it wouldnt open or close due to the hight of the port!i suppose i could lower the port......this is seriously begining to piss me off!

Well luckily tomorrow is your day off, so you can take a breather
that was posted after a long day of frustration and head scratching, however both myself and the console are intact! (just!)also, i have at least 3 evenings this week where i have to do my church duties, so i cant do anything 'til at least thursday, i think im going to see how hard it would be to lower the connector... (i dont think i'll be able to stop myself crying if it requires a rewire though!)
YEEEEESSSSS!!!!got the cart connector lowerd without the need to re-wire!!just need to re-build the cover now...
Quote from: wiggyNice!thanks!, it was a bit of a brain bender, but i got there in the end!got the first half of the cover done, hopefully i can finish it off tonightpics and vid when done!
Nice!
