Just flicking through a couple pages in here, having never looked at it before, I have to say your work is astounding.  I am in no position to be spending any money on anything for several months, but if you're able to be commissioned, woooooo boy would I love to get my hands on a few of the projects you've done here :)  If not, I'll just continue drooling -- better for my wallet, worse for my obsessive collection.

I saw a great mod for the consolized PSP somewhere, can't remember where, that housed it in a PS2 slim case.  They basically just cut down the flip-top of the PS2 slim and made the UMD case lay flush with it, was really slick.  I don't know if you ever finished your PSP, but I saw on one of the pages that you were trying to figure out how to make it look impressive.

thanks!

some of these projects were fun, others a huge pain in the ass, but soooo satisfying when done!

im up for commissions, not for anything (im not a magician!) if its in this thread then i'll happily build one for you!

as for the PSP, it's still in pieces, i never really decided how i was going to house it, thanks for the idea, never really thought about the slim...

That's JUST what I wanted to hear (and exactly what my wallet didn't) :D

Found the link.  Assembler, should've known... http://www.assemblergames.com/forums/showthread.php?46697-Consolized-PSP

I'd take that a step further personally -- there's gotta be a way to use the original controller port instead of that hacked one.  And while I applaud him(?) for making it output with the original PS3 component cables, I'm a huge fan of getting rid of proprietary cables, so in my dream build of that, it would output through standard RCA jacks.

But yeah.  If you ever felt like getting back into that particular project, it's the slickest way yet I've seen to do it.  Right up there with the master system game gear.

Guy playing in the video doesn't seem very good.  Think of it as final fight + SFII style moves + level & item system.

that does look pretty slick, thanks for the link!, that was just the sort of thing i was looking for when i asked for case ideas, seriously have to look into that...

i have a Y\Pb\Pr to HDMI converter for mine, so it'll have a HDMI port on it, with a separate port for the speakers.

there is a PCB which works with a PS controller, the problem is it doesn't convert the analogue stick signals, only the buttons and d-pad, im sure somebody could do it, but it's beyond my skill set!...

i will eventually get around to finishing mine, its currently in bits, the only thing its missing is a good case, but i think we've just solved that!

if you wanted one it wouldnt be cheap, BUT... i wont be taking any commissions until AFTER ive done mine, that way i know how easy/difficult it'll be, what to do and what to avoid, and a rough estimate of cost. also, there wouldnt be any variations, it'd come with a fixed spec.

(cant wait til then?, send me monies! LOL)

I could, however I think the easier mod would be to fit one of viletim's "NESRGB" boards

(If you just want to play famicom games, fitting a cart port to a nes is easy...)

*Whispering*
....we might be able to come up with a SICK production mod case with my contacts with plastic factories and all  ;) ;)

And you could sell it completed or as a mod set.  :)

well a month has passed and i really havent gotten very far with the RPi build, its in its case and the screen is in place and working, but the rest of the software work is kicking my ass!, why oh why did it have to be linux!?
until i get the motivation to properly attack the software i cant really do anything with it...

in the meantime i have ordered the PS2 slim case and done a little more work on the bits of hardware i have, in preperation

(I've also ordered a bunch of wire  ;)  )
