reply #175 of this thread explains what I intend to do,

this is the first part of the cart slot relocation, going from horizontal to vertical, so far its been nightmare free, however I have spotted a fatal flaw, which could potentially cause me a massive headache!

you sound frustrated  ;)
sometimes it is better to get away from working to rest the mind and body.

interesting work. i've always wanted to solder but never got around to it.
seems like you're pretty good at what you do.

i've read about te current project and i wanted to remind you that i'm still working on your PGM logo.
i didn't forget about you...

I think he fucked it, while being fucked, and there was some fucking or something going on?  Dunno, but I'm glad I wasn't there with him.  I didn't think I'd ever hear (er, see) "fuck" from the Doc :(

i just had to vent some of my frustration, sorry!

so, i finally finished soldering to the cart connectors, its only taken about 4 days, i was really excited so hooked everything up, plugged in a game to the vertical slot and turned on...

my supergun takes a while to get going, so the first thing that happens is i hear the sound of the pgm starting up, it shows the pgm logo, the igs logo and plays a little tune (i dont see them i just hear the little tune...), all is good, then, my supergun has "warmed up"  and i can see the warning screen, this is also good, no problems so far, then the title screen and attract mode starts, this is where the problems begin...

on the attract mode there are graphical issues, oh no!, so i press the credit button and go into the game, further graphics issues, weird blocks and backgrounds!, so i turned off, "fuck!, maybe ive damaged the board" i think, so i plug the game into the horizontal slot and turn on, perfect, game plays fine!, so its not the supergun, board OR game its obviously a soldering problem!

i remember having a similar problem when making the nes/famicom, that was down to the wires being too long, i would have to remove and shorten the connections on one side, reconnect and try again...

at this point i had a "moment of madness", and decided i would remove ALL the connections and start from scratch!, this is when i posted my "frustrated" post, and went to bed!

im not gonna do anything with it tonight, i'll have a rest and start again on friday...

(also, thanks noemann)

tomorrow is another day but I'm sure you got this. As tedious as the task is, it will all be satisfying once it works right. you don't think that any of the soldering leads were shorting together? based on your pics, space is a premium between the wires and shorting a couple of them is very possible, although it looks like so far you have been extra careful
