@Quazimoto. Wal-Mart. i think it ran me 3 or 4 bucks. My father in-law came home yesterday with Animal. I thought it was older. I just really like the chef. I have been buying cool looking hot wheels lately (Angry Bird, Muppets Chef, Flintstones car, mystery machine van, Batmobile, Etc)

Thank You Kindly... I shall be sure to check the Walmart next time I happen in there.   ;D

Got all this today.

The Guy Game: $15
Brave Story: was $16, it was supposed to be in like new condition, it was actually in horrible shape. The book is all bent up and the UMD has an aftermarket case that won't even slide into my psp unless extreme force is applied. Got ahold of the seller, sent my money back and told me to keep it. So all in all, $0. Makes me feel kinda bad though. I just wanted maybe $5 back to get a new UMD case.
Shifties!! : a nice trade with Wiggy.

(Me showing off the Shiftie in my car.)

(Showing off my micro with a Shiftie sleeping bag. Lol)

What are you looking at? You think baby's don't like video games? THEN YOU DON'T KNOW SHIT ABOUT BABIES!!

Good deals all around.  It's been a long time since I've made a good game find at Goodwill.  I've been lucking out on label maker tape cartridges lately though.  Usually $2-3 at GW, then I can resell them for $15-20.  Have to support my habit somehow.

I look through the vinyl whenever I go, but I've never found any Beatles.  I'd snap those up in a heartbeat too.

...on their way from elsewhere

ragnacenty (Megadrive) cart only £4...

WOOT!, score for me!, the bloke running the shop said he couldnt find the cart, but that whilst he was searching he missed the postal deadline for next day delivery, to make up for it he upgraded me to the boxed copy (at no extra charge!) and sent it by courier, (also at no extra charge!), definatly shopping there again!

I stopped looking in the vinyl section a while ago, there is rarely anything good, and it is not worth the trouble of flipping through them all. I found the Beatles albums when I was checking out, buying the GC games, there was a cart full of stuff that needed to be put on the store shelves, and I saw the top of Sgt. Pepper, and I got very happy, I have been looking for a cheap copy of this album for a while. I already have Abbey Road and The White Album, but might as well buy another copy for $1 each.
I'm going back tomorrow with another friend, I should look to see if there is any others.

I got to post some pics of the White Album, the person before me apparently tore the old sleeve and tried to make a new one out of poster board.  :-[

I'm actually a little behind as far as this thread's concerned and I've been meaning to post some pics of some of my more recent finds, but today's score just couldn't wait.  ;D

So me and my wife both had a long weekend off together this week, and since it was such a gorgeous day outside this morning, we decided to check out the local flea market for any treasure. We walked around for a good while with no luck. Same old vendors, same old crap as usual.

...Ah, but then my friends we spotted something glorious in the distance.

Originally the guy wanted $250 for it, but after we talked a minute or two he dropped it to $150. He told me he'd got it recently from a foreclosed storage building that he had purchased and that he had tried plugging it in a few days before, but it wasn't even coming on. I'm honestly lost when it comes to cabinets, but all the insides looked good. I didn't notice any frayed wires, corrosion, etc. and other than a thin layer of dust it looked pretty well maintained as far as the circuit boards went. I didn't notice a game board anywhere, so I figured that was the only thing missing from the equation. I still didn't want to take that kind of gamble on $150 so I talked it over with my wife and we decided to offer the guy $85 since it may not even work.

I honestly figured it would be gone by the time we headed back because by then it was the end of the day and everyone was pretty much closing up shop. There it still stood though, shining like a wondrous beacon of hope among the same old junk that's usually out there. I looked over it a few more times and was getting ready to make the offer when he told me he'd let me have it for $75. I almost shat a brick, but I could tell he was desperate to off-load the thing so I held off a little longer. After we talked a few more minutes he told me he was just ready to get rid of it, and dropped it to $50. I asked if he'd take $40 and he accepted.

Got home, plugged her in, flipped on the power switch at the top (which I guess he might not have known about) and the marquee light fired up perfectly. We cleaned out the insides, wiped it down, and straightened out the bezel a little and I couldn't be happier. I can hear the monitor softly buzzing so I can only assume there are no problems with it.

TLDR: 40 DAMN BUCKS!!:

Couple of questions for you guys:....

I did a little researching online and read up on the JAMMA boards. I'm assuming comparing mine to the ones I've seen online that this one is indeed a JAMMA harness? (Sorry for the blurry pic on this one):

If that's so, I'm assuming all I need to do is buy a JAMMA compatible game board, and it'll work like new money...that is if there are no other problems, right?

Secondly, the Player 1 joystick is missing.

After I opened up the front panel and checked it out, I'm guessing that shouldn't be too hard to replace. Any recommendations? Anything special I need to look for when buying a replacement stick? Anything I need to know before jumping into fixing it?

Third, the plug-in itself:

Looks like the ground plug is broken off. I have absolutely no experience with stripping wires or anything, but I'm willing to give it a shot if that's what needs to be done, with a little guidance of course. What's the best course of action on this one?

Thanks a lot guys!

ok, first off i wanna say, nice score on the arcade cab!, its not looking too hot right now but for $40 thats great!

secondly, what does it actually say on the connector?, anything other than just pin numbers?

this is the jamma pinout;

'street fighter 2 turbo hyper fighting' is a CPS board, which is JAMMA compatible, (because it uses 6 buttons instead of the JAMMA standards 3, it requires an extra button harness which connects the extra 3 buttons directly to the game board)

'golden axe : the revenge of death adder' SHOULD be jamma compatible, the pic on sega 16.com shows a jamma connector on the board,

so, based on that evidence, im 95% sure it's a jamma connector. (you dont have those games right?, i was just going on what stickers/marquee are on the machine)

the joystick shouldnt be a problem, the're easy enough to obtain and replace, personally i prefer micro switches over leaf switches,

check out groovygamegear;

http://groovygamegear.com/webstore/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=65

a nice selection at reasonable prices
when it comes to replacing it, just look at the pinout and how the other is wired in, its pretty foolproof!
it also depends on whats going to go in there, if its mostly going to be fighters youd be better with an 8 way stick, if its mostly going to be side scrollers and shoot em ups then a 4 way would be better, of course you could always get a stick which is 4/8 way switchable.

what is the cord plugged into?, i assume its going to be plugged into a dedicated arcade psu? in my experience they have easy to unscrew terminals, so simply unscrewing the old cord and fixing a new one on wouldnt be a problem.
could you take a good picture of where that cord is connected to?

@pumanchero: yes i too need a cab at some point!

damn, haven't picked up anything. got a psn+ membership with some free stuff, but instead of scouring ebay i've been playing stuff and collecting roms for the cracked wii. revengeance for instance; loads better than i expected. mgs4 kinda killed the franchise, but first with peace walker and now revengeance it's getting back on it's feet.
