Ok so I'm thinking about getting a PS Vita. How many people like or dislike them. What do you like or dislike about them? Any really good games? (I like mass effect, resident evil, final fantasy, borderlands. Stuff like that.) any neat features? The horrible necessity of needing a special outrageously priced memory card.

Any info would help because the net has way to many mixed feelings on them.
What are you looking at? You think baby's don't like video games? THEN YOU DON'T KNOW SHIT ABOUT BABIES!!

I bought the vita day one. I use it mostly for playing PSone titles. Would I recommend it? I don't know! There isn't really support for it. A lot of games have been cancelled. The games are expensive. However, it's a nice piece of hardware but it's gathering dust.

after the psp they were scared shitless at the prospect of making another hackable handheld, so they made some dumb decisions like hindering the use of psn titles for fear of exploits, only using their own brand of overpriced memory cards +general overall inconvenience. i kinda like it actually, but i won't be getting one until there's a significant pricedrop to offset the extra fees and bullshit. that or a real killer app, but i've already beaten persona 4 like 5 times on the ps2.

I think it is a fantastic handheld but without a game library to support it right now, not worth the price. If it drops to $150 I'd get it.

i love mine =D

Free Vita games from PS+ if you have a PS3, GPS + 3G (not entirely the best thing), Cross Buy Games (Ratchet and Clank, PS All Stars Battle Royale, Sly Cooper), trophies.  I like it

excellent system, I agree games are few and far but there are far more solid titles in my opinion than the 3ds has to offer, at least for now.

The interface/system is blistering quick, almost mind boggling how well the thing works

oh, and TROPHIES ZOMG

EFF yeah it is. No shortage of awesome games on the 3DS, in my opinion. Don't want to derail this topic though, and since I really have nothing pertinent to add to the Vita conversation.

Well that is a good topic. I have a 3ds and I "like" it... And it seems there is some better titles for it than the vita, that's why I've been waiting.so if its not better "game wise" then there is no point of me getting one.

Exactly. If there isn't a must have game for it, I won't get it.

It's a great piece of hardware and I would like to get one someday but until it gets some great exclusives (and i mean true exclusives and not ones that also show up on the PS3) I just can't justify the price.

I would say wait till E3, most likely we'll get a price drop and maybe they will be showing off a lot more games for it.

It really is alovely piece of kit from a hardware perspective, but the titles havent been very good.  Even wipeout and ridge racer have failed to excite me, and they are 2of my favourite franchises, so Mine has mostly been gathering dust.  Although, this week I got lumines free with PS plus, and I love it.

The good:
The dual analogue sticks are really solid, and feel much better than the PSP stick.
The screen is fantastic.
Decent battery life.

The bad
I don't care much for the rear touch pad, it feels a bit gimmicky.
I don't like having games on little memory chips, and they mostly don't come with instruction manuals.  It's only a tiny step away from being download only.
The new release games are ridiculously expensive for the most part.  If you are used to casual gamng on an iPad for less than a dollar a game, it's a bit hard to swallow paying 60 for a vita title.  Regardless of how much better/deeper it is.  Mobile gaming has changed, and the vita missed the boat.

I cant really fault the actual unit, but I can only recommend it if there are games you want to play on it, and you don't mind paying for them.

Suppose I should give a more realistic review of the system. My 3ds comment was simply a matter of opinion, there are some excellent games for the 3DS but I just base it on which one I simply play more.

Pros

Comfortable feel, can play for hours no cramping
Battery life is more than suffice for a long day of gaming
Screen and responsiveness are excellent
system software, again quite snappy
dual analog
playstation store (especially if you have PS Plus)

Cons

Pricey both system and memory
low amount of games currently
not very pocket friendly
