Suppose I should give a more realistic review of the system. My 3ds comment was simply a matter of opinion, there are some excellent games for the 3DS but I just base it on which one I simply play more.

Pros

Comfortable feel, can play for hours no cramping
Battery life is more than suffice for a long day of gaming
Screen and responsiveness are excellent
system software, again quite snappy
dual analog
playstation store (especially if you have PS Plus)

Cons

Pricey both system and memory
low amount of games currently
not very pocket friendly

Don't have one yet, but what I have heard one BIG con: Only one user account per console.

when I just checked the list on Gamefly it looks like it has less than 70 titles...including ones that aren't out yet.

   I love the system.
The screen is extremely clear and crisp.
The graphics are comparable to a good high end PS2 or low end PS3 game.

It gathers dust on my desk though....
The lack of games that make me want to play them RIGHT THIS MINUTE is not there.
Of the 60 some odd games for the Vita there seems to be less than 10 that get constant praise.
The library of awesome games isn't there.

Be happy with your DS/3DS library for now. There are far more games to play on that to be happy with right now.

I would personally wait on the Vita if I were you. Wait for a price drop and some more games to release.

Though if you have PlayStation Plus, it may be worth it still to get it due to you getting new games for it monthly for free.

I haven't read much on the vita, can you connect it to your tv like you could with the psp?

as far as games there are just two I would be interested in Uncharted and Tales of Innocence R.

they openedd the ps4 conference telling us they were gonna bring the vita into the living room, but that turned out to be a letdown. altho, there was that patent that leaked showing a vita with a hdmi-port.

It really is alovely piece of kit from a hardware perspective, but the titles havent been very good.  Even wipeout and ridge racer have failed to excite me, and they are 2of my favourite franchises, so Mine has mostly been gathering dust.  Although, this week I got lumines free with PS plus, and I love it.

The good:
The dual analogue sticks are really solid, and feel much better than the PSP stick.
The screen is fantastic.
Decent battery life.

The bad
I don't care much for the rear touch pad, it feels a bit gimmicky.
I don't like having games on little memory chips, and they mostly don't come with instruction manuals.  It's only a tiny step away from being download only.
The new release games are ridiculously expensive for the most part.  If you are used to casual gamng on an iPad for less than a dollar a game, it's a bit hard to swallow paying 60 for a vita title.  Regardless of how much better/deeper it is.  Mobile gaming has changed, and the vita missed the boat.

I cant really fault the actual unit, but I can only recommend it if there are games you want to play on it, and you don't mind paying for them.

60??  they are 30-40.  Were you getting your games???  They are typical handheld prices.  I just got one yesterday and am enjoying it.

Well, I'm in Europe, retail price is £40 which equates to $60 (even more expensive in France)

I fully expect them to match the Japan price drop in the US which will put it around 200$ new, right now you can find them for 150 give or take used pretty often. I would say 100-125 is a fair used price now days

yeah, they've been saying that for a while. see what good it'll do them.
i hear it's because SCE head Kaz took over as CEO of Sony, so they're so slow to admit the Vita is failing because that'd reflect bad on everyone up top. retailers round here are already selling it at a discount, clearing out the few games they have, and not every nordic online retailers has a vita tab on their games section. the Vita is an absolute failure and Kaz needs to admit that. nintendo openly talked about pulling the 3ds from the western market before the pricecut, which not only saved it but made it an attractive system.

I think the price will drop at E3. And they will say something about how integrated it is with PS4 and that they want it into as many hands as possible.

No game = no gain.
