This is a stupid question about Game Cube cases

Rx_79:
I never owned a Game Cube back in the day, and have recently been picking up a few titles.  Like Mario Sunshine, Pikmin and Wind Waker.

However I noticed that all of the cases, have a strange notch on the bottom right side.  Are these cases missing a plastic latch or something.

At first I thought I had a rental case and this was some type of anti -thief device.  But every game I get has this. So what is it for?
GotLoveForAll:
I think that's a security thingie.

It's just the way the cases were molded; all Gamecube game cases have that. If they don't then someone swapped the cases.
LordXaero:
The cases were designed for a lock that would slide into the bottom right of the case, which would lock in place, using a magnet feature. The only way (without breaking it of course) to open it, would be by placing the case on a magnet "key", thus causing the lock to slide out.

I know this because I worked at Blockbuster for a year, and their DVD cases were the same design. Guess Nintendo was being generous with the design so companies wouldn't have to order cases.

Does anyone know where to order gamecube styled cases? I don't care if they are third party cheap plastic crap.
