Popular games you couln't get into.
MedaForce:
Final Fantasy VII - I Love all the other games in the series but for me I just found VII to be very boring, Never understood why the game is held so highly.
Elder Scrolls Oblivion/Skyrim - Never liked them, in-fact I actually fell asleep playing Oblivion.
World of WarCraft - Only MMO & Blizzard game I couldn't get into.
God of War Series - Found the first two to be nothing more then boring button mashers for me. Never understood the hype.
GTA Series - It's kind of funny that I never liked this series but I fell in love with Saints Row :p
3D Super Mario Games - Love the 2D games but could never get into the 3D ones.
Banjo-Kazooie - Never liked it
Donkey Kong Country - Just couldn't get into it.
All Realistic NFL, NHL, MLB and NBA games - I have fun with the silly cartoony versions and I love the FIFA games but all the rest are boring for me.

as for modern series; 'assasins creed' played a bit of the first one and some of the mechanics of it annoyed me, it's like 'oh, i've just killed someone, now i have these guards chasing me, i'll just hide in this convienient rooftop garden/hideout thing, now they cant find me even though they're right there!', also at one point i was back in the lab, got out of the chair, had a wonder around, but couldnt find anything to do other than get back in the chair!, what was the point of that?, these put me off the series perminantly!

Although I'm not a huge fan of these games you should give any other game in the series a try, they fixed so many problems with the first one. I absolutely hated it but had some mild fun with others that came after it.
kaysow:
yeah, the assassin's creed series is like:
asscreed1: too hyped up and everyone was kinda underwhelmed. i thought the climbing carried it well enough, that was original as hell at the time. sidemissions were shit tho, and for some reason all your actual "assassinations" ends up being too chasey and actiony. this would just escalate in later installments.
asscreed2: Ezio is a million times more fun to follow than Altair, the maps are more fun, and the sidemissions were more diverse and gratifying. a great sequel.
brotherhood: this is where the series went annual. mechanically the same as asscreed2, but added a neat system where you can summon recruits to help you out. hard to knock this game. story was lackluster tho.
revelations: added a stupid chemical-mixing system that was later dropped. story is completely irrelevant.
asscreed3: awful new character noone likes, story was a waste of a good setting. the whole engine was revamped, theoretically for the better, but practically it's a broken mess of poorly implemented ideas. most critics and gamers agree that the game lacked any "core mechanics". you could do lots of things, but none of it was that well-done. the ONE exception to this was naval warfare - out of the many new features this one was the most successful. by this point tho, there's barely any assassinations left in the game. it's much more chasey and actiony, and linear corridor chases and brawling in the streets.
Lambadelta:
Final Fantasy 7 - I love the FF series but 7 never interested me. I found 6 and 9 better.
COD - Obvious answer here
Halo - same as cod tbh
Battlefield - same as cod answer
AC - I liked AC2 but I think the series itself is overrated
Doom 3 - I loved Doom 1 and Doom 2 but I couldnt make myself play Doom 3
GW2 - I love the story but I hate how its eating the name of GW1 and doesn't really have any of GW1's features
FIFA and Madden - I don't like sports games.
Castlevania lord of shadows - Totally didn't like the gameplay
DMC (new one) - Hate what they have done to dante
Quazimoto:
- Any First Person Shooter: Just don't like the perspective of gameplay and most modern ones feel like they're cheap re-hashes of past games.
- The Final Fantay Series: I could really almost say RPGs in particular here, but I did really like the first Legend Of Zelda and Chrono Trigger (though I've never played all the way through that one). I did play all the way through Final Fantasy VII and the first one released on the NES, but felt like doing so was more of a chore than a fun gaming experience.
- Any Legend Of Zelda Game (aside from the first one and Adventures of Link): I did like the first two and thought Link's Awakening was alright, but just could find much enjoyment in any of the ones I've played beyond those (though, to be fair, I have not played a great deal of them and never actually finished any other than the aforementioned three).
- God Of War Series: This way actually even surprised me. Going in, I thought I would love them and they came highly recommended from numerous people I'd talked to. Perhaps it was simply a case of being over-hyped. Maybe I expected something more in the adventuring and less in the actioning. I don't know. While playing the games, the only thing I could think to myself about them was... "Meh".
- Gran Turismo: I typically love a good racing game and I really WANTED to love Gran Turismo. I just couldn't. I give major kudos to the creators as they did a wonderful job creating a driving sim style game, but to me, it felt so stiff and too serious. Felt like... If I wanted to drive a real car, I'd just go drive a real car, you know?
