For me it would definitely be The Elder Scrolls series. I tried Morrowind, Oblivion and Skyrim, and they all got booooooring very quickly. Also it doesn't help that the games feel unfinished. There's also the GTA series. I tried GTA3 and it really doesn't appeal to me to be a criminal. There's also Mass Effect, though it's rather because of EA's customer policy more than anything.

28 years old. first off, like rkoredux said; MULTIPLAYER. playing with some pals in the same room is all fine, but WoW is boring as hell, and i don't care about competition much. in 2008 i got way into Left 4 Dead, but that's the one exception.
Halo was a huge thing a while back, and i opted out halfway through the first one. guns look and handled like toys, and the enemies aren't satisfying to kill.
Call of duty was an impressive game, the first one. but i haven't cared much for fpses since halo invented them, and looking where it's gone from there i am not the least bit tempted to ever try the new ones out.
also xbox related: Gears of War. played the entire first game, and the constant barrage of action was just mindnumbing. too much all the time, always peppered with stupid military jargon, and most AAA action games have been doing this since, leaving no room to enjoy the game; just progress from one event to the next, everyone is screaming, everything's exploding. it's all linear and nearly on rails so you don't need to engage your brain at all. i mean i actually have legit adhd and even i'm insulted that my attention span is underestimated this grossly. when this game was over i had no recollection whatsoever what i'd been doing for the last few hours, or why. nothing makes sense but don't you worry, just do as we say and follow the npcs. i hated the pacing of this game and sadly it became the norm.

that's it for modern shit tho. assassin's creed is kinda fun, but the experience is becoming more and more like gears of war. western AAA stuff in general is just not for me anymore i guess, so i try to stick to japanese titles instead. that said;
i could not get into Earthbound. don't know what i'm not getting, but after a few short sessions there was nothing to keep me coming back. so i dropped it. might try again someday.
the last Mario i cared for was Mario 64. sunshine felt childish and gimmicky so i skipped it, the "new" series felt like a shallow nostlgia cash-in, and galaxy is supposed to be good but i can't be arsed to care anymore.
Devil May Cry was alright. harder than it had to be, and generally pretty mediocre. DMC2 tho; i sat through it when i friend played and it is single-handedly the dumbest fucking thing i've ever seen. gameplay is samey and repetitive, enemy designs are uninspired, silly and out-of-place, and the story had me in stitches with it's ludicrous leaps. what, we need to find the last piece? piece to what? we've been gathering something? oh now she's dying? everything was so horribly executed i dubbed it The Single Worst Video Game Ever.
then i saw him play DMC3 which actually looked pretty great. need to try the HD collection someday.

and finally: Fightan Games™. street fighter and mortal kombat came during my gaming dark ages between megadrive and psx. played some neo geo arcade stuff once or twice and it was ok. virtua fighter was quickly dated. tekken added stupid explosion animations to your punches which kinda killed it for me. soulcalibur on the dreamcast was pretty cool, but got old quickly. nothing really grabbed me. altho this is a lie, because blazblue eventually came along and did it right. a story that is slowly revelealed over every character's campaign: genius. that hooked me, so i persevered and enjoyed all of them, even if i don't play it outside of the campaigns. need to get to the guilty gears now as well.

I never got into the "Final Fantasy" games, or similar RPGs like the "Dragon Warrior" series. The whole idea of constantly picking an action from numerous options, just to progress a small amount, irritates me like crazy. Even some of the "Zelda" games truly annoy me, like "Link's Awakening" and "Majora's Mask".

I also never got into a ton of puzzle games, except for "Tetris" and "Dr. Mario".

So many.  Being that i am now pushing 40 - i am very much a casual gamer - i want a quick fix, i can't be bothered with games that are going to need me to spend hundred of hours to finish.

Pokemon - played 2 of them, didn't like them
Megaman - i never had a NES in my youth, so didn't get into them back then - played MM9 on the PS3 and really didn't see what all the fuss was about.
Final Fantasy - I want to like these - really I do.  I get into one, but after 5 or so hours, and feeling like i've got nowhere - they bore me.
Halo, Gears, COD, etc, etc - all the same - I hate FPS.  Doesn't help that i'm rubbish at them - they make me feel motion sick. (I did like W3d, Doom, Hexxen, Heretic, etc back when the genre started out on the PC)
GTA - another one that i want to like.  Fun for a few hours - but the story is too long without much to keep me engrossed.  You can only shoot so many people in the face before it gets boring.
Mortal Kombat - I don't hate these, but i'd rather play tekken or street fighter.  Fatalaties and babalities and all that gimmicky shit just turn me off.
Madden NFL - this is just because i'm european and don't get the whole American 'Football' thing.  I hate real life 'soccer' but i love the Fifa and PES games.
Zelda - i can't really have an opinion on this as i've barely played any - just don't understand the hype around them.

There are probably many more - but those are the ones which spring to mind.

This.  I'm not quite as old, but pretty close and I just can't get into the whole Kill 'Em Up genre in general, whether it be 1st person like COD, or 3rd like Gears of War.

I'm 19 and I can't get into RPGs all that much. The only RPG that I like is Pokemon and the original Fable. With Western RPGs like Fallout 3 or Skyrim I hate the open world and enormity of the games. It really turns me off when I see that the average time spent on some of these games is 80+ hours. I don't have all that much time to dedicate to one game and I don't want to. I also just hate the way open ended games feel. I never feel a sense of accomplishment. With most JRPGs I just hate grinding and turn based battling and random encounters. It gets really monotonous and obnoxious after a while. The only way I can stand it is in Pokemon, because I love to complete the Pokedex and the random encounters are always another chance to find a new Pokemon that I don't have yet.
Also FPSs I used to like Halo but I never had Xbox Live so I never played multiplayer. Now I suck so hard at these games. Online it's so difficult for me to play and I don't derive any enjoyment from it. I find online multiplayer in FPS games very boring after more than 20 minutes. Also there is now satisfaction with multiplayer. If you play for two hours it doesn't matter because it all just resets after the matches are over. There's no sense of progression in that.

Any NON "Extreme" Sports game, CoD games, Fighters. More specifically (and recently) Devil May Cry.
I bought the HD Collection to check em out. Got to mission 18 or so on DMC1 and have no urge to continue.
Im pretty much an Action/Adventure/RPG person. I find it harder now-a-days to get into turn based RPGs

I don't like FPS but I have to say I played the shit outta Wolfcastle 3D, Doom and Duke Nukem back in the 90's for the PC. Another exception was Golden Eye 007 that I totally love. For some reason I don't like CoD, Halo and GoW; I specially hate CoD because of the political background and US point of view on such delicate topics.

lots of varied tastes in here!

i cant think of any 'classic' games that i wouldnt like...

as for modern series; 'assasins creed' played a bit of the first one and some of the mechanics of it annoyed me, it's like 'oh, i've just killed someone, now i have these guards chasing me, i'll just hide in this convienient rooftop garden/hideout thing, now they cant find me even though they're right there!', also at one point i was back in the lab, got out of the chair, had a wonder around, but couldnt find anything to do other than get back in the chair!, what was the point of that?, these put me off the series perminantly!

'elder scrolls' series, and similar 'open' RPG's, MMO's etc; tried playing both morrowwind and oblivion, just got bored wondering around not really doing anything and occasionally dying, pointless!, when i play an RPG i want to get engrossed in a story, feel for the characters and cheer when i beat the last boss!

'too human'; maybe im just too old, but i found this game really tough!, only played for about 10 mins. more or less dying every minute or so!, if thats the first level i hate to think how much worse it gets later!

I'll add a personal observation about GoldenEye, since I do love that game, but don't really like any other FPS: Before Goldeneye, the FPS wasn't that popular, especially for home consoles.  But I think because of Goldeneye's huge success, other studios tried to cash in on the game's popularity and now you see game after game that is basically the same but it doesn't have the character or originality of Goldeneye.

I think this is similar to what happened with CGI in movies.  Take Jurassic Park for example.  Early 90s movie, CG dinosaurs. They looked great!  So all the other studios and directors said, "wow! Look at what Spielberg did with computers, we could do something like that too!" But then you get movies that just rush to the finish and the quality is down.

Final Fantasy VII - I Love all the other games in the series but for me I just found VII to be very boring, Never understood why the game is held so highly.

Elder Scrolls Oblivion/Skyrim - Never liked them, in-fact I actually fell asleep playing Oblivion.

World of WarCraft -  Only MMO & Blizzard game I couldn't get into.

God of War Series - Found the first two to be nothing more then boring button mashers for me. Never understood the hype.

GTA Series - It's kind of funny that I never liked this series but I fell in love with Saints Row :p

3D Super Mario Games - Love the 2D games but could never get into the 3D ones.

Banjo-Kazooie - Never liked it

Donkey Kong Country - Just couldn't get into it.

All Realistic NFL, NHL, MLB and NBA games -  I have fun with the silly cartoony versions and I love the FIFA games but all the rest are boring for me.

Although I'm not a huge fan of these games you should give any other game in the series a try, they fixed so many problems with the first one. I absolutely hated it but had some mild fun with others that came after it.

yeah, the assassin's creed series is like:

asscreed1: too hyped up and everyone was kinda underwhelmed. i thought the climbing carried it well enough, that was original as hell at the time. sidemissions were shit tho, and for some reason all your actual "assassinations" ends up being too chasey and actiony. this would just escalate in later installments.
asscreed2: Ezio is a million times more fun to follow than Altair, the maps are more fun, and the sidemissions were more diverse and gratifying. a great sequel.
brotherhood: this is where the series went annual. mechanically the same as asscreed2, but added a neat system where you can summon recruits to help you out. hard to knock this game. story was lackluster tho.
revelations: added a stupid chemical-mixing system that was later dropped. story is completely irrelevant.
asscreed3: awful new character noone likes, story was a waste of a good setting. the whole engine was revamped, theoretically for the better, but practically it's a broken mess of poorly implemented ideas. most critics and gamers agree that the game lacked any "core mechanics". you could do lots of things, but none of it was that well-done. the ONE exception to this was naval warfare - out of the many new features this one was the most successful. by this point tho, there's barely any assassinations left in the game. it's much more chasey and actiony, and linear corridor chases and brawling in the streets.

Final Fantasy 7 - I love the FF series but 7 never interested me. I found 6 and 9 better.

COD - Obvious answer here

Halo - same as cod tbh

Battlefield - same as cod answer

AC - I liked AC2 but I think the series itself is overrated

Doom 3 - I loved Doom 1 and Doom 2 but I couldnt make myself play Doom 3

GW2 - I love the story but I hate how its eating the name of GW1 and doesn't really have any of GW1's features

FIFA and Madden - I don't like sports games.

Castlevania lord of shadows - Totally didn't like the gameplay

DMC (new one) - Hate what they have done to dante

- Any First Person Shooter:  Just don't like the perspective of gameplay and most modern ones feel like they're cheap re-hashes of past games.

- The Final Fantay Series:  I could really almost say RPGs in particular here, but I did really like the first Legend Of Zelda and Chrono Trigger (though I've never played all the way through that one).  I did play all the way through Final Fantasy VII and the first one released on the NES, but felt like doing so was more of a chore than a fun gaming experience.

- Any Legend Of Zelda Game (aside from the first one and Adventures of Link):  I did like the first two and thought Link's Awakening was alright, but just could find much enjoyment in any of the ones I've played beyond those (though, to be fair, I have not played a great deal of them and never actually finished any other than the aforementioned three).

- God Of War Series:  This way actually even surprised me.  Going in, I thought I would love them and they came highly recommended from numerous people I'd talked to.  Perhaps it was simply a case of being over-hyped.  Maybe I expected something more in the adventuring and less in the actioning.  I don't know.  While playing the games, the only thing I could think to myself about them was... "Meh".

- Gran Turismo:  I typically love a good racing game and I really WANTED to love Gran Turismo.  I just couldn't.  I give major kudos to the creators as they did a wonderful job creating a driving sim style game, but to me, it felt so stiff and too serious.  Felt like...  If I wanted to drive a real car, I'd just go drive a real car, you know?
