A guy from cheapass gamer posted this on one of my VGA threads thought it was funny. Post any funny rants gaming related you find.

I just wanted to say VGA graded games are the stupidist thing to ever happen to this hobby. Any moron can inspect a sealed copy and assign it a meaningless rating based on the condition of the box and the cellophane but it takes a special kind of douche to need (or be impressed by) the validation of some arbitrary 3rd party, self declared expert body. What are you planning to do, wear a VGA 95 graded Clay Fighter Sculpters Cut on a chain at the BET awards?

Wanting a complete N64 collection for bragging rights is bad enough as 70% of the games are hot garbage but going one step further and slabbing them? lol...you obviously have more money than sense.

Taking into account the price some of these slabbed games are selling for on ebay, you really don't think some Chinese counterfitter is working on or has already infiltrated the market with sealed N64 games? I mean with a few gold foil exceptions, it's just cardboard, ink and plastic wrap. H seal, Y seal...for $700-5,000 US dollars I'm sure they could replicate an "artist formerly known as prince" seal (or even an official VGA label).

Please keep posting updates...this is impressive in the same way as a guy two hand streching his man hole into the diameter of a dinner plate and posting pictures of it on the internet is impressive - what ever brings you pleasure right?

If you're actually a VGA owner/employee, and you're just posting here to drum up legitimacy for your business - well played! Please disregard the above vitriol. I admire and respect your ability to separate fools from their money. Brilliant hustle indeed.

Is that guy directing his rant towards you? I mean sure, everyone is entitled to their opinion just some best left go unsaid or said in a bit more respectful manner.

Like anyone,  there are gaming related things that disgust me, like VGA's lol, but I don't knock anyone that chooses to use them or collect them, I am not the one paying for it so what should I care.

I have heard some ridiculous rants over the years and honestly all they are lacking are some non-biased points but most times its someone blowing off steam in a completely unorganized or disrespectful manner.

There is a subtle difference between a rant and a clever rant.  Well played, sir.

I actually feel the same about VGA grading mainly because I buy games to play them...not to put them on a shelf to be looked at. I don't live in a gaming museum. Sure I put games in UGCs with nice covers, but that is to protect them from dust and to keep my console from killing itself, but that is SOP.

I'm somewhere in the middle.  Don't get me wrong, I'm an opponent of the VGA and how it's affected our hobby, but I sure as hell don't play everything I buy, nor do I intend to.  There's just too much.

New games I buy to play, that's it.  This is why you won't see 300 PS3 games when you see my collection.  But the classic stuff like TG-16, SNES, Genesis, etc. I buy to collect (and play, just not all of them).

edit: also, nice 'chop, Larry :D
