Ohman thats beautiful thank you so much.  And yes yes no worries about front covers I was planning on just using the manuals as the front cover.  Even though the manuals dont have the usual blue sided format I think they will Look just fine!

Here's the back insert for Chuck Rock. I'll do a cover at a later period. The back insert was the most important thing for you, right?

If you need the original retail art for the back of the box, I uploaded this by request in another thread (along with Wonderdog, Rise of the Dragon and Secret of Monkey Island):

http://www.ratigators.com/

Until I get a chance to do all of the back inserts across the board (like I did with Sega Saturn), if you need anything else, just let me know and I'll get it scanned.

hey guys just wanted to update yalll.

I went and got the rear art inserts printed at fedex/kinkos and they fit very well and look amazing.

---BUT when i set them up next to my other sega CD games the hue of the blue is very different than the originals.  Not just a little, but quite a lot.

Is it possible that fedex/kinkos store uses laser printing and these would look more accurate to the original colors on a ink jet???

Anyone else have this problem with sega CD printing??

I changed the name to "SEGA CD Longbox Cover thread"

I like the title you came up with but this naming is more in line with our other cover threads  :)

They will never be 100% the same. The best solution is for everyone that prints these to take photos so that the cover artists can attempt to create an approximated balance between the retail colours and the newly printed versions.

Evfen if you get the colors exactly right on the template, every printer has a different color mix, so you are right, it will never be 100%. Not even real retail covers are a 100% match.

If you have nothing to do... Don't do it here!

Drunk posting? haha. Yeah, a close approximation is the best that can be done.

Printing exact colors is a science. When I was in college, we spent hours calibrating the printers to get our prints as close to our digital images as possible. I directly sampled real SEGA CD covers to come up with the colors I finally decided on. Letting the printer control colors will produce different colors than letting photoshop control the colors. Different printers will produce different hues. So there's no perfect way of making exact prints. More so if you're going to an outside source.

I see!

Thanks so much for the responses guys.  Somehow i got the idea in my head that perhaps there was a discrepancy in the print quality between a laser and an inkjet.

Im not very tech savvy lol.

In any case its not a huge deal, im just so thankful these inserts fit and look so excellent!  thank you again so much gang!!!

Inkjet is better for picture quality, go with that where possible.

(general statement in regard to home/common printers, not a universal truth!)

I printed off the batman and final fight covers and rear art today.  I have to say that they look great and thanks to segamer for the hard work.
