Genesis cover colors

I'm trying to figure out why some Genesis covers seem to come out "redder" than others.  Look at the picture:



Shinobi III is a retail cover for comparison.  The rest are TCP covers.

Sonic 2 & Streets of Rage 2 are very close to the retail colors.  However, the stripes on Streets of Rage 1 are noticeably darker than SOR2, and Comix Zone is significantly darker to the point where there is very little contrast between the diagonal color stripes.

I actually printed Streets of Rage 1 & 2 one right after the other, so I'm pretty sure that it's not an ink issue.  I use the same printer and the same inks for all of my covers.

Its the way Genesis covers are, I have a bunch of original cased games and thay all have a slightly off color, Its the biggest reason why I have the genesis boxes, no consistency.
There are also some inconsistencies between TCP custom covers as far as the shade goes.

I imagine part if it has to do with whether or not the cover is a straight scan, or a retail using the template.
