Hello,

I am new to the forums but not new to the site. I am, one of those, that sells these covers printed on our color laser and on high quality thick glossy stock. I do not currently sell them on ebay.

I was looking for an "easy" way to "pay back" since i am making money on the collective works of the site. Although not much as i sell them for $4.99 with the cases. I don't see a way to donate to the site nor do i see a way to easily donate to the artist. And after reading some old donation posts it looks like the site owner would prefer donations be made to the artists anyway.

I would love to make a small donation to the artist for each cover i sell, something small as a way to say thankyou. But there isn't an easy way to do this.

Therefore i have a suggestion. Each cover lists the artist that created the cover. How about setting up a donation paypal account that divies up the money collected via donations and sends out payments to the artists based upon number of downloads. The other suggestion would be to allow the artists to register their paypal account and have a donate link next to their name on the cover download page.

I am sure i am not the only one who would want to donate to the artists. But contacting each artist individually is not realistic, and an easy way to do this would be appreciated :)

One good way is to use some of the profits from your cases to buy boxes to scan. That way helps the entire community, because many of the covers are not a one person job, with the use of templates and what-not.
I got a list HERE of boxes I need to case up my collection, I also got a bunch of covers in my Box account linked to below that are not on the site if you need any.

I agree with the above two posts.  Plus, once money starts getting thrown into the equation it could raise copyright infringement issues that I'm sure nobody here wants.

I really can't scan in boxes. But I was thinking of starting a fund to purchase boxes and carts, etc. And provide them to someone who can scan them in. This would be a non-profit orgainization that would simply buy what is needed and get the money from donations. Is there interest for this? Is someone interested in doing the scanning? Or am i just thinking too hard about this :)

Thats a pretty good idea. Everyone wins and we dont have to worry about swimming through any murky waters.

Id definetly be willing to volunteer for the scanning. Ive certainly scanned my fair share of boxes and I dont have any issues getting good quality scans for everyone to work with. I can get everything scanned and uploaded for everyone els to use, aswell as put a bunch together myself Im sure.

If you really want to help out that way, Id be more than happy to help out. Its nice to know that someone who uses our covers for profits is actually willing to give back to the community. If only the others were the same.

Buying boxes is a good idea.

"Monetizing" our site is not an option and also pretty unrealistic.

I'll start thanking you though when the first boxes arrive at badchads home. I'd also rather want
a real regular member to get them not any random user.

So my vote is for either

badchad
shenske
snowcone himself - I think though he won't have the time
myself - I live in europe though so shipping is to expensive
vt102
Arseen - same europe shipping problem
2 + 3 = 23

The true way to contribute to the site is via scans. If you want to contribute boxes, I'd be more than happy to provide my address and scan donated boxes. I think Almighty Wolf could provide a list of the most important or desired covers.

I'd gladly take any boxes and scan them in. I have my scanner all figured out to get the best results.

I don't collect boxed game myself so i wouldn't be tempted to get them for my own personal glory. This reminds me to get cracking on scanning in a few images from some early to late 90's magazines i picked up  :)

I have a donations paypal account setup so i can send money to it from the sales of my own cases (don't want to co-mingle the money). This is the account i will use to make purchase. I think I will start with NES and SNES first. Can someone PM me a list of the most desired covers?

Thanks,

Tom
