Donating to site or artists
videogametrader:
Hello,
I am new to the forums but not new to the site. I am, one of those, that sells these covers printed on our color laser and on high quality thick glossy stock. I do not currently sell them on ebay.
I was looking for an "easy" way to "pay back" since i am making money on the collective works of the site. Although not much as i sell them for $4.99 with the cases. I don't see a way to donate to the site nor do i see a way to easily donate to the artist. And after reading some old donation posts it looks like the site owner would prefer donations be made to the artists anyway.
I would love to make a small donation to the artist for each cover i sell, something small as a way to say thankyou. But there isn't an easy way to do this.
Therefore i have a suggestion. Each cover lists the artist that created the cover. How about setting up a donation paypal account that divies up the money collected via donations and sends out payments to the artists based upon number of downloads. The other suggestion would be to allow the artists to register their paypal account and have a donate link next to their name on the cover download page.
I am sure i am not the only one who would want to donate to the artists. But contacting each artist individually is not realistic, and an easy way to do this would be appreciated :)

One good way is to use some of the profits from your cases to buy boxes to scan. That way helps the entire community, because many of the covers are not a one person job, with the use of templates and what-not.
I got a list HERE of boxes I need to case up my collection, I also got a bunch of covers in my Box account linked to below that are not on the site if you need any.

I agree with the above two posts. Plus, once money starts getting thrown into the equation it could raise copyright infringement issues that I'm sure nobody here wants.

I really can't scan in boxes. But I was thinking of starting a fund to purchase boxes and carts, etc. And provide them to someone who can scan them in. This would be a non-profit orgainization that would simply buy what is needed and get the money from donations. Is there interest for this? Is someone interested in doing the scanning? Or am i just thinking too hard about this :)
