I want to play my Sega CDX (USA Version) but I cannot find the power cord that came with it. On the back of the console it specifically reads as follows:
Model No.: MK - 4121
Rating : DC 9.5V 1.5A
USE GENESIS CDX AC ADAPTOR ONLY
All I have is a SEGA Genesis 2 AC adaptor... Would I destroy the CDX by using that? It fits perfectly -- I just do not want to fry my system.
As long as the voltage (9.5V), amperage (1.5A) and polarities are the same, there should be no issues. Even if it's a 3rd party adapter.
You can even go for a higher amperage (like a 2.0+A). Amperage is no big deal, your CDX will only use 1.5 of the available amps even if the adapter is rated higher than that, But wattage and polarities are VERY IMPORTANT, don't go over 9.5V and make sure the connector terminals (negative and positive) match perfectly.
