Currently, I'm working on the cover for ELIMINATOR BOAT DUEL for NES. While working on the screenshots, I realized that the very first screenshot is upside down. So, my questions is, do I correct the error or do I put the picture upside down as it appears on the box?

This is a screen from the game. As you can see, the bar with the time and meters is at the bottom.

I say make 2 versions, would not be that hard too.
I like to have the mistakes, but some bug me, Like on Animaniacs GB, Dots dress is the wrong color. This one is kinda funny.

I'd say fix it.  I don't want too many cover alterations of virtually the same thing.

Leave it if you're making a retail cover. Retail is retail; mistakes add to the charm in my opinion.

Custom cover? Fix it... 'cause that's just silly.

Great, that's just great... I got one, do multiple version, one don't do multiple version, one fix and one don't fix. Everyone cancelled each other out. The covers done with the exception of this one picture. Help me!!!

I think this.

Or maybe this, if we want to be historically accurate :P

Does anybody even look at the back of their covers? I see my spines about 90% of the time and the front the other 10%. I say leave it and be done with it.

That's a big part of why I stopped messing around with retail ;)

This debate came up before when the Astyanax cover was posted, which has (retail) a screenshot that's flipped horizontally.  I guess for a full retail it would have to be just like the regular box, which is flipped.

I say keep the retail 100%, and just fix the custom. Im sure anyone should be more than capable of opening the cover in paint and flipping the screenshot themselves.

I agree with badchad, keep it retail :)
But at the same time, I don't see a problem with the site hosting retail spines, TCP style spines and the combination with fixed/retail fronts and backs...

Done! As you described is how I posted it. The covers can be found in the NES cover thread.
