So I've got UGCs for my NES, SNES & N64 games (well, actually only some NES in UGC - I'm waiting to see the Onion NES cases). I've got my Genesis & 32X games in Genesis and 32X cases with reprinted covers. I've got Game Boy, Color, and Advance in 3DS cases. I've even started putting PC/DOS games and PS1 games in poly cases.
The last bit of my collection has reached a crossroads - Sega CD, Sega CD 32X and Sega Saturn games - to case or not to case.
I've gotten all but 2 of the Sega CD games that interest me. All of them are in their original tall jewel cases, except for Sonic CD and Echo the Dolphin, which are in CD case-sized pack-in cases. Also 2 of the games I have, plus 1 that I intend to get, are in the Sega CD "boxes". So I have all official cases, but they don't all match.
I currently have only a handful of Saturn games, but already half of them don't have their original case. And even if they did, when I get Japanese games, they won't match at all. Plus there are many nice matching DVD covers for these systems.
So, what do you guys think, should I put their original cases in storage and put them in DVD cases, or should I leave them as-is and track down any missing original cases? What have you guys done?
I was also thinking, if I do get DVD cases, I'd like to find some blue, orange and white cases for each system to make them more interesting.
