Hooking Up All My Consoles
(1/3) > >>
Polygon:
So, I was talking with Wiggy in his picture thread and he got my thinking about doing RGB and converting to component on some of my consoles. I'm going to start with the Genesis and I'm going to modify it for stereo sound as it's a Genesis 1. Now, I've been looking at converters and the one I see the most is the CSY-2100 which doesn't bring the audio through. This is fine with my Genesis 1, but it won't work when I start doing some other consoles including ones I haven't gotten yet.

So, my first question is this. Do any of you have any suggestions for a good converter that will carry the audio as well? I don't want an upscaler or anything like that. My next question is this. I have a component cable for the GameCube, PlayStation 2, and the original X-Box. Which T.V. to put them on, CRT or LCD? The X-Box will be on the LCD since I can set it to 480p and widescreen. But what about the PlayStation 2 and GameCube?

An audio mod on the converter looks easy enough.

I just have this for the Genesis:

The headphone port on the Model 1 does output Stereo sound so just routing it that way works well with no modifications needed.

I assumed as much. However, I don't want to have to mod it. I want to buy something that just works. Fabrication and modding are a last resort for me.

Yep, I know that. I'm a bit OCD though and I don't like to have a y-cable coming out of the front.
CommunistGamer:
just wire a y cable to it on the PCB. in the case.
