Hey, guys.

As usual, I've been working on the case designs.
I recently got the last two carts, that I had on order.

I had to split the SNES/SFC Combo Case onto two separate case designs.

Now the SNES Case will support the USA Super GameBoy (if you clip out two tabs).

The Super Famicom Case will now also support the Retro Port and it's A/V Cables (no modding req)
as well as the Japanese SGB & SGB2 (if you clip out two tabs).

This has freed up the NES Case; It no longer has to support the USA SGB.
And then it hit me...
How would you guys like a NES Case that had a clear, hinged, trapdoor under the cart area,
and a recess under it, to stow your small NES Game Manuals?

However, I need ta know how deep to make the recess.
The only small NES Game Manual I have on hand is Tetris, but it's relatively thin.

What's the Thickest NES Game Manual?
Would you guys mind measuring the thickness of your thickest NES Game Manual?
I'm thinking it's probably one of the Dragon Warrior games?

The Dragon Warrior Explorers Guide is pretty thick, It is about the size of a SNES manual.
More info in a second.

Edit -
(Each page is the front and back of the bage paper)

The Dragon Warrior Explorer's Guide is 64 pages long, The game also has a normal sized manual, I don't have it so IDK how long it is, I may get it soon.

The Super Mario Bros. 3 manual is fairly thick too. 46 pages,

I have both BTW.

What about Final Fantasy? That manual is pretty thick from what I remember.

Plus it came with a map and monster chart from what I remember which I imagine people would want to keep with the manual.

EDIT: Actually now that I red his post again, hes asking for the the thickest small (regular size) NES manuals. Manuals like Final Fantasy are pretty much the same as SNES manuals so Id imagine it would just be easier to use normal manual clips for those ones rather than the trap door.

I would have had a perfect manual to check too. I had a english/french Kirbys Adventure manual I remember beeing pretty thick because it contained the entire manual twice, in both languages. Unfortunetly I just swapped it not to long ago with an english only manual my friend was selling with a copy of the game.

Im thinking Zelda might be a little thicker than the average game but theres definetly something thicker.

Wizardry: Proving Grounds of the Mad Overlord has a full-sized manual that's about 70-odd pages.  For smaller manuals, L'Empereur and Bandit Kings of Ancient China have manuals that are around 65-70 pages long (given the amount of instruction you need to play the Koei games, it's no wonder ;D ).  I can measure the thickness of them when I get home, if you like.

That would be great; thanks. ;)

I'm still going to have Manual Tabs on the Left, in addition to the Trapdoor under the cart area.
They're greyed-out in my case templates, on the Cart Side,
so I won't accidentally try to put anything in that area that will hit/touch the Manual Tabs when the case is closed.

That seems to be a tall explorers guide like Dragon Warrior, not a small one.

right:
regular nes booklet: 102mm high, 135mm wide - final fantasy explorer's handbook: 172mm high, 119mm wide
incidentally the ff dimensions are identitical to my N64 booklets.

thanks btw for making me pull my booklets out; stumbled over an old NES flintstones booklet that has JUST the illusive taito company logo i needed to finalize my bubble bobble cover =)
