Tbh I don't care if they use thecoverproject.com.  If it keeps people away tat just want to leech covers, and they get a few bucks from it, so be it.  What I do care about is them leeching our covers and selling tem as if they are associated with us.  I think we very quickly need to get some new processes in place before downloads are enabled on new accounts -  would also be beneficial to have some holding zone for covers which is accessible to trusted members, otherwise those of us who just use an open  box account are going to get raped.

I also wonder if these are the same people who recently tried to acquire thecoverproject.net from snowcone? ALl smells a bit fishy to e a coincidence.

I found pretty funny and extremely coincidental that they were "hacked" and were forced to close down the "free downloads" section.  All that talk about giving out the covers for free then all of a sudden they were hacked and now can't do it.

Oh and I can't forget to mention her "tricks of the trade". Lol her tricks being

1. Go to cover project website
2. Download all new covers
3. ? ? ?
4. Profit

Simple as that and I believe we all know what ? ? ? Is

But Usenet keeps my personal information stamped onto that file for four years and if in four years they start prosecuting copyright distribution I could be in a crap load of trouble.

Had to Lol at that too...

From looking around, It seems TCP.com is selling for $400 - $500.

Also what about .org? That seems to be used to.

Also a Google search for TheCoverProject brings up a few pages of info about us, and searching Thecoerproject.com, corrects you to .net

I just read this thread.

Its very funny :)

I always gaze in wonderment (is that a word?) when i look at sites that sell case for $10+. Looks like the eBay prices have come down thought. I see cases being sold for well under $10. But some at still around $11.

I am considering putting cases up on eBay as well. However, if I do, I will promise that a portion (at least $1.00 per case as I intend to sell them for under $5) will go into purchasing scans for this site.

I have already contacted someone from the site who is willing to make the scans for me. I just need to get the time to create some listings as the retail side of my business is very busy (a good problem to have).

BTW. I know this is probably answered somewhere else but what is the software that maks the case images showing the front back and spin in a UGC case?

Thanks

I just don't feel comfortable profiting from someone elses hard work. Like, I'd feel like less of a man and more like a parasite.

Should be noted that TCP.com is NOT selling for ~$500.    Trust me.

My thoughts exactly. But it would be a nice way to raise money to buy the items needed for the site. Especially some of the rare games. I picked up Rad Racket for NES today and will be scanning the box later..

I think i can get away with selling them for $5.99. $1 going to the project and pissing everyone else off who sells them.
