Also, I would offer to take their company for free, just like the covers should be.

Hell, even I know that what they did was bull.  "Oh we can't afford printing out FREE covers the we spent ZERO hours out on a case that costs less than a dollar.  Who knows? They probably spent their revenue on Taco Bell.

Honestly, if I were to create those custom N64, SNES, and Genesis / 32X Mini Boxes and sell them, I would still donate a large portion of the funds I made to this site in order to help the site run financially and to help kickstart some of these programs such as Onion Game Cases.

In reality however, I don't think I'd sell them, just simply release to the public for all to see.  ;)

This is Chubby; He hates Game Case Sellers who steal our artwork to profit their lazy kingdoms.

Have you seen pics of them and their kids?  Taco Bell indeed...

Was that too low?  Oh well, too late.

I guess that makes us even for her insinuating that I'm a pedophile.

Let's all just mutually agree that while it is sad that they lost their business, in the long run they shouldn't have a business that's already free to the public.  (well, paper and ink cost cash)...

oh man, this is epic

"I know open source community you’ll hope that by us  publishing everything there is to know + MORE, on game case creation that our competition will take a hit. "

"By posting rants and information about our web site on your forums you drove traffic to us again and again and helped our Google ranking climb.  As you bash and get angry at other sellers, you will help their business and lend credence and legitimacy to what they do even if it’s the opposite of your intention.  By having NO user agreement for uploading or downloading covers unlike other Open Source distribution web sites.  Most of this is due to the nature of game cases and copyright infringement worries.  The only answer for Open Source web sites is to figure out how to exploit the selling of game cases to promote the making of game cases.  With limited organization and bad Google rankings the few sites attempting to do this aren’t reaching a wide audience. Additionally by incentivizing sellers to put links on their web sites to your covers you would get traffic.  However, admins of sites like this have not only condoned verbal vomit on their forums but also buying up original works that were hand drawn, then scanning them in, and freely distributing them after spending pages about how bad the artist is.  Namely myself.  THEN you want me to link to your web site. "

"The Writing is On The Wall

The future has arrived.  Game cases and the distribution and collection of libraries of games will grow tremendously in the years to come.  For those who think it will stay quiet and no one will seek to capitalize on that popularity are fools.  People who can truly benefit from the game case covers and processes will push the hobby forward world wide.  So don’t be worried about the dozens of users cropping up selling game cases.  Most of them suck anyway, but there will be ones that won’t.

Where can you still get game cases?  Although he competes with us and writes silly diatribes against us (which we love) I would suggest going to retrogamecases.com for your game cases.  We’ve competed with him for a long time and it’s been real.  He does however make a decent game case and decent NES case.  He’s also honest and isn’t in it to make a quick buck.  He actually likes the game cases he works with, so I have to give him +1 for that.  To Retro – get an SSL certificate! "

Wonder if I should send her a case of tampon, serious bleeding going on

Odd that she still visits this site, no?  Obviously it wasn't to contribute, nor to participate in the forums (except for that time when, well, you know), so I wonder what the reason could POSSIBLY be?  And it's clear she visited it today otherwise she wouldn't have said what she said, so I'm guessing it was a daily thing:

1) Log into computer
2) Go to TCP
3) Download all new covers made since yesterday, upload them to your site, put a price tag on it, and claim it's your creation

I also like how she's telling us to brace ourselves - because someone else is going to come along and do it better than us.  Do what, exactly?  Give out covers for free?  OH SNAP ANYTHING BUT THAT!  That would be the worst thing possible!  Imagine more than one site giving all of their content out for free!  The HORROR!!!

I also like how she got her timeline a bit messed up.  Am I not mistaken or was it not until someone called her out for passing off our covers as hers did she reluctantly mention TCP?  And once that had been swept under the rug and more of the same was going on, wiggy called her out for lying about the product that was being sold?  That's when she was 'just about to upload a bunch of stuff' (because up to that point it was a one-sided relationship with her only doing the taking) but was glad she didn't.

Good luck with your next business venture, GCW.  I'm sure there's some law firm or political campaign that could use someone of your moral and ethical character.  8)

Seriously. I sure as hell don't see anyone doing what we do better so far. In fact, I don't see anyone doing what we do to the extent that we do at all.

I love her "I've made over 100 covers" assertion. What she did was take existing templates that she had zero hand in making, slap existing artwork into them, and then have the gall to call it her "portfolio".   And that's only about 5% of the time. The rest of the time was just downloading and printing all while insisting that they "professionally clean up and correct" all of our mistakes. Puh-leeeeze!

I've made 400+ covers and that's all been as a hobby. If I did it for a living, you'd better believe that I'd be pushing 1K plus covers. Makes me angry that she groups herself in with other actual artists.

"good riddance to bad rubbish"

any chance the "gamcase world sucks", (or whatever it was called) thread could be revived?

Did they at least use acid free paper like they said they did? I think I saw that topic once before, wiggy was ripping the quality of their prints apart pretty bad.

This one will prolly just keep morphing into that sort of thing ;)

No idea, but I still have both their print and mine of their "special" Earthbound cover sitting around somewhere.  We'll see in about 6 months or so (hint: I REALLY doubt they did).
