These are pretty nifty.  Something I thought that would be cool would to recreate the US Snes Boxes and make them just big enough for the cart to fit in, like a dust cover.  Need to say, it's not the best of idea LOL

Yeah no:

Actually the NES version was a hit, now we are just waiting it to arise from the grave.

Seeing these again really have my interest once more.  Doing this

1. Saves on paper and ink, which I assume is 8.5" x 11"
2. Saves on shelf space
3. MUCH cheaper than UGC's with cover printing
4. Environmentally friendlier

Plus, picking up 80 - 110 lb cardstock in bulk is fairly cheap if I remember, about 7 or 8 bucks for 100 sheets.

Ya know, I might take this project on. :D

It would be intense, but imagine the things we all could do with it. No issues with "original authenticity" being they are different sizes, smaller and easier to find paper size, less shelf space.

I think I'll work something up when I get a chance.....

My only real concern would be the fragility of them, the same as original boxes.  I think they'd look awesome, make no mistake, I just can't seem myself tossing a paper sleeve on the games :/

Yeah but pretty sturdy, and should give nearly as good protection as UGC.

I mean I do see the reason to have UGC's, and there's also the idea of using these.  The reason I think it would be great is so that people like me who cannot afford the original boxes, have no space, and don't have financial access to UGC's can still protect their collection.  Yup, it's a box, but one that can always be replaced if damaged, unlike the originals.

Oh the NES mini-boxes, I miss them. Here are a few of the last I did before I decided to change to Scanavo cases (they hold the manual and carts fit well without ANY modification; also the spine width is the very same as the retail boxes, that is 26 mm).

I do believe boxes are cooler, is just that they take too much time to get ready...
