The Dangers of UGC trimming...(Discretion advised)
- 9 stitches after slipping with a razor scraper, while trimming UGCs to fit Nes carts. Not a fun day. I've tried rotary tools, but have never been satisfied. Are there any local businesses, that any town would have, who could trim these boxes for me? I still have over 50 to get my collection boxed. I'm just traumatized after what transpired.

Dude!
Gimmie a couple of months.
One of my New Game Case Designs fully support NES Games and Manuals, with no modding required.

I don't even use any kind of blades or anything. Just a metal tool that clamps on the plastic, and then I just twist and pull.
It's not pretty, but the NES games fit, and that's all that matters. Not worth tearing your hand apart.

I want to find someone locally that can shave off those taps with ease. Any ideas what profession would have such tools that would make modding these boxes simple?

Handyman, plumber, re-modeler...
You could also try repair shops for appliances, or shops that cater to model trains, Remote Controlled Cars, and the like; something family owned, not a big box store.

Well, look at it this way: if you'd lost that finger, you couldn't flip people off anymore.

This is why razor blades are not the best way to mod these cases. Dremels have a grip far enough away from a blade that you aren't likely to injure yourself.

I've drawn blood several times when modifying UGCs (just over 400 done now), but never anything that severe. Usually just a small poke with the blade, basically a little pinhole. Thursday's the day I do my cases so I'll be working on another 5 tonight, so I hope I didn't just jinx myself!

I just wear my gardening/maintenance gloves when cutting these. I have used my dremel but its always too messy for my tastes.

Because a 90 year old man would have an interest in nes. I'm 27! Anyway in regard to using a gardening glove; I've thought about picking up a mesh cutting glove. I definately need a new technique. I'd prefer to find a local business that could trim these boxes for me. Maybe a carpenter or wood smith. I have a dremel, but I've always been unsatisfied with it. It doesn't shave as close as a blade.
