Hi everyone, im Gazulo. Im a Graphic Designer and illustrator.  I discover this little community by accident and get hook inmediatly.
Im not a consider myself a collector I just enjoy the videogames. I like rescues and repair games and bring new life to this poor bastards.

One of my favorites games of all times is Yoshi's Island. I have a very poor childhood and nintendo was of limits for long long time. So, i became a responsible old person, i bougt my fist console, a Game Boy Advande SP 101, and, at last get the damn game. I loved it and i still love it. The feeling never went out.

Never mind. As i said, im not a collector, but i love videogames. So i discover Cover Project, and inmediatle went to the GBA Yoshi's Island cover and print it, but i dont like it. The image has some pixel issues, the image was stretch, the text was unreadable. I print it and shelf it, but i I couldn't help it. My OCD strike it so i start to make my own cover from zero.

So i want to show you the process and ask you what you think.
Is not ready yet. It has some details to look at it in the Game Boy Advance Logo, i still need to find the "only for" font. But the hard part, which is the art itself, its done. Is made at 200% the original size. if in some future there is some new case or whatever.

Im sorry in advance if im doing something wrong or i insult someone in anyway. I not use to do this things, in not a forum persona. Im really antisocial for internet standards. And to top on all, im from Argentina and i have a very broken english. But i want to share this with you people because i think i can contribute something.
Hope you like it and i wait for your comments.
Pease!!  ;D

PS: i dont know if this is even the right place to show the work in progress. I could'n find it.

Only minor thing is that this topic is for trady covers... but we will survive. ;D

Anyway what I can see from the preview it looks primising, mind you that ready covers amd raws we need are at least 300 DPI at their natural size.
 Welcome aboard.

Oh shoot. Sorry. So I should upload it directly, when it is ready?
It will be in 300 DPI in natural size, certainly. i Problably upload it in deviant art in PDF in open format, if someone need some assets from it.

Thanx for the advice. :D

Uploading directly to our site puts the cover in a limbo untill one of us Admins takes a look at it (it alone can take forever) and either approves or trashes it without further notice.
So I suggest uploading to Mediafire or other good site and then link to the boards so we can take a look when it's ready.

Welcome to The Cover Project, Gazulo! I'm so happy you discovered this site. You're from Argentina? Nice! I want to go to Argentina. My Uncle Mario lives there. He used to live in Italy.

Yes, I'm serious. I met him one time when I was 14 back in 1997. I have always wanted to visit Argentina. I've been to Italy so many times because we have family there. However, without my mom's mom, it isn't the same anymore. She died November 2013. She was the one I always looked forward to seeing every time we would go to Italy.

Hey, gamers! What's up? It's been a very long time since I made another Game Boy cover. I had been working on so many Nintendo Wii covers that I started to miss working on Game Boy covers. James Bond 007 is already on the main site but it's the ugly Player's Choice release. I wanted to make a cover of the original release. Here's something I couldn't understand about Nintendo. When they released this game, they plastered a permanent "New Release" sticker on the front of the box. My cover is free of that and now looks the way it should. I used the cartridge label as reference to see where the white circle goes. Removing the sticker in Photoshop was easy. It made me think, "Why the heck did this game originally have a permanent "New Release" sticker on the box? That was a stupid idea." One other difference between the original release and the Player's Choice release is the ESRB rating. The original release has the rating K-A for Kids to Adults. The Player's Choice release has the rating E for Everyone. Isn't that something? I just thought I'd point that out. The original box also had two grammar mistakes I fixed. The first one was in the 2nd sentence on the first paragraph. It originally said, "The peace and security of the entire planet is at stake." The sentence on my cover now says "The peace and security of the entire planet are at stake." The reason we use "are" instead of "is" is because we're talking about two things. The other grammar mistake was on the last sentence in the first paragraph. The sentence had the word "caries". That word is the medical term for "cavities". The correct word to use is "carries" because it's talking about James Bond carrying out his latest order. Can you bring James Bond some martini shaken; not stirred? He could really use it. Ha ha ha! More Game Boy covers are coming soon. Happy gaming!

Sorry, I'm destroying the English language. It is now improving thanks to the help of my friend Google Translator.

So it is done. I finish the complete cover of the Yoshi's Island for GBA; Logos, backgrounds, even the mini pics with the gameplay footage.
In short i will upload the files but i have no idea how.

The ways that I have to upload the files decrease the image quality.. Is there any way to make 100% quality?

Here is a sample.

Looks promising.

Make Mediafire (or Box) account, upload there and link here.

Nice way to share from Mediafire is to choose:
Share -> more sharing options.
Then choose preview size (DOES NOT AFFECT ACTUAL FILE ANYWAY). Use any of the 15" or bigger.
Then copy the link that says forum embed and post the text here as is.
This creates preview image that when clicked leads to the actual file.

Yeah! Thanks! My Uncle Mario didn't have a mustache when I first met him. I don't know where he lives in Argentina. All I know is that he lives where there's an enormous Italian population. By the way, very nice job on the cover of Super Mario Advance 3: Yoshi's Island. Now we're partners in crime. Ha ha ha!
