Hey larryinc64, I have two more requests, again only if you can find the time. Can you make a case for the original Legend of Zelda on NES like you did the Zelda II cover? And then also, is there any way that you could convert this

into a cover that would fit into a DVD case? It's one of Shenske's Majora's Mask N64 covers. I want to put it into a Wii case since I own it on the Wii Virtual Console, but I don't want the cover to indicate anywhere that's it's Wii Virtual Console, I'd just like the original N64 cover converted into a DVD-style cover, and this one looked the best to me. Thanks again for those other covers as well. They look great on my shelf!

I have a few questions.
I'd like to make covers for games I own that aren't already made by the community here.
However I am not talented enough in photoshop to remaster raw scans and so forth.

If I download a pre-made DS cover of a game, and stretch/shrink its front & back covers to fit inside the 3DS template will that look horrible?

No, it will look the same. Just make sure you save it as png instead of jpg. PNG maintains the quality. JPG compresses the picture and you get a lot of jpg artifacts.

Only the spine needs resizing. The front and back are the same size, though the covers on the site stretch the art to fit, and the borders prevent that in my template.
Manu of my covers are based on covers from here, so resizing wont look bad if you use Photoshop.

From what I understand I think european ds cases are thicker than cases in the states. you might want to look at that. and plus modding a ds case to make it thicker is not too dificult.

Yep they are.

It's 2 EU is 3 US, or was it 3EU is 5 US, I don't have my cases at hand now to check.

Do I print at 300 or 600 dpi?

All covers on the site should be print ready (either sized to US DS, EU DS OR 3DS case, see cover description) and will print out 300DPI.

Check the DPI before printing if it says 300 and you paper settings (orientation & margins set correctly, fit page not chosen, scaling at 100%) are correct just hit print in paint.

Cool, I think I have enough color left to print off one as a test. Good thing my printer can do borderless printing. I can use regular 8.5x11 to print covers =p

I ran out of ink doing custom work. I was putting GB games in CD Jewel cases, then ran into an issue of fitting GBC games into them.... This was last summer/fall before.

EDIT***
Had enough ink to do 3 prints at 300dpi.
Beautiful! The paper makes the difference. Truly does.
I'm using HP Brochure Paper 180g glossy on an HP OfficeJet 6100.

Gonna have a lot of fun printing these off!

Hey larryinc6, how's this look for a Zelda 1 cover?

https://app.box.com/files/0/f/0/1/f_14334034100

I was actually able to make it on Mac OS X's Preivew app. I don't have Photoshop so it was a bunch of cutting and pasting, but with your template it actually looks alright, a lot better than the thumbnail, actually. Luckily the box arts are the same color, otherwise there's no way I would've been able to make that. It's kind of Frankenstein of your Zelda II boxart and the RAW scans of Zelda 1. I'm gonna see what I can do with Majora's Mask, but I don't think that one is gonna turn out so well.

Thanks again for the other boxarts!

So shrinking the covers to fit within your template get the front/back cover closer to their original aspect ratios? Or is still shrinking them, but they still look "ok"?

EDIT: Moved my covers to my post on page 23
