I was thinking of adding spine company logos to help them be consistent, what logos should I put in?
I so far am planing:
Sega
Konami
Capcom
Jaleco
Rare
Larry, I would recommend Sega, Konami, Capcom. Rare was owned by Nintendo, so the default Nintendo spine logo is fine. Most likely a Rare game would have the Rare logo on the front cover. Jaleco is meh?
@ LarrySome corrections/suggestions for your 3DS coversCastlevania: The Adventure = The front cover’s dimensions seem shorter compared to your other 3ds covers? Maybe my eyes are playing tricks on me. Double check that.
Castlevania Legends (GB) = Back cover, bottom right, the text that includes “Ltd. All rights reserved, etc.” is a little too close to the border, any way to bump everything a little higher?
Donkey Kong Land 3 : Capitalize the complete name of the animal companion, for example, “Squitter the spider”, should be Squitter the Spider. Do the same for the rest of the animals.
Dr. Mario (GB) = On the front cover, the words that begin with “Dr. Mario is coming…” are really hard to see because of the contrast, anyway you modify that?
Game & Watch Gallery 2 = Back cover, the top screenshots (grey ones) look really fuzzy? Can anything be done about that?
Kirby’s Dream Land 2 (GB) = Back cover, Change DeDeDe to Dedede (first paragraph).
Mario Pinball Land (GBA) = Back cover, the ONLY FOR is too close to the top border, move it down a little?
Super Mario Bros. Deluxe, the back cover’s text seems a little fuzzy?
Super Mario Land 1 = Back cover, Hungry sharks should be hungry sharks. Why capitalize the H? “inthe air” should be in the air, add a space.
Super Mario Land 2 = Back cover, change Flower, it's misspelled. Change “ballery” to battery.
You have two Donkey Land (GB) covers, the one that doesn’t have the “I” in the spine is the better one.
In your 3DS folder, outside the subfolders, you have a Quicktime file showing a picture of a template that is 39MB, what is the purpose of this file if you have the same template in the template folder?
If you can't do all of these repairs, then focus more importantly on Super Mario Land 1 and 2, those spelling errors are an eyesore.
@Tyrannical May I suggest you make a thread about your work on your spines? You are very talented with custom spine work, maybe dedicate a thread for all your spine work like all the other crack artists dedicate a thread for their work?
Do you mind if I look over your covers and see if I see any mistakes so i can give you some feedback? I don't know much about editing covers but I got a set of eyes lol!
@Larry, Tyrannical, RockinIs there any way to convince the Administrators/Mods to have your 3DS covers in the official database?
And it would sound silly if they said no because of quality control standards, because there is a shitload of crappy covers GB/GBC/GBA in the official database that had no business of being approved (And yes I know that everyone says there were no high standards in the old days, but the poor quality covers are still in the database regardless…)
Anything we can do to convince them? Anything I can do? I want to support you guys in this 3DS cover endeavor anyway I can, but I don’t have any means of providing raw scans and the like.
General Questions What produces better image quality, a PNG file format or JPG? I heard JPG is better for photographs and such, so that can applies to covers? Tyrannical and Larry, your covers are in PNG format though.
Does it matter from what program you print the covers from? Big difference in quality/dimensions if you use PhotoShop or Paint?
Are you guys using Legal, Standard or A4 paper to print your 3DS covers?
