Glad i finished gamecube a while back, nothing bothers me more than disc only GC as the cases are quite unique and is why I went through hell to make my collections 100% complete in this sense. Also, I absolutely detest players choice so none of that nonsense too. Same goes with greatest hits for playstation 1-3, f that noise.
Star Fox and Star Fox 64 are most definitely different. To be fair, star fox for snes hasnt aged well but is still an exceptional game and one I have fond memories of. That said , I think as I mentioned before a game like this is where ages of playing this when snes was current gen console to someone going back after the fact will differ in opinion. At the time for a person like me, young and current gen when this came out, the game was mind blowing, the graphics, sound, the overall new IP and experience. Someone else that plays it for the first time won't hold that same nostalgic memory and fondness, that is not to say they won't enjoy it just will be viewed from a much different perspective than one of the time period.
