I recently purchased a new Desktop for home use along with 2 LED monitors. I'd like to know what cables I need to support a 2 monitor (extended view) set up. My tower has VGA out (I think anyway .. the part that holds the pins is blue) and HDMI out. The monitors have VGA in and DVI in so I'm thinking I need to, at minimum, purchase an HDMI to DVI cable so that I can hook up the second monitor? So Monitor 1 would go from my tower's HDMI out connection to DVI cable to DVI input Monitor 2 would go from the tower's VGA out connection to the VGA in Connection Just wondering if this would work as I'd like to order the correct cable. I figure someone on here will know the answer ;D |

I'd say it would work. Or, if you have a spare HDMI cable, you could just get an HDMI to DVI adapter. |

I'd also say to make sure your games work on a dual monitor setup. I myself had some problems with Zeno Clash. Two monitors - game hangs, one monitor - plays perfectly. |

Thanks guys. I'll give it a go. I should have mentioned that I wont be playing any games on it. It's strictly for music, video, and photo storage, Internet browsing, and to use ms office. I'll be working from home quite a bit over the next few months and dual monitors are a must for testing my work's new accounting system. Also grabed an ink jet printer so that I can finally print some covers from home. |
