Neo Geo X

Dr.Agon:

Why are people falling for this!?

For about the same money you could get a mvs and supergun, most games can be had for around $50, and there's a much larger and better selection...

wiggy:

Come on, Doc. You know this is cool, regardless or whether or not it's the best way to get you hands on Neo Geo games. Also, one word; portable.

sheep2001:

i don't want one of these at all....i NEED one!!!!

satoshi_matrix:

I watched the official unboxing and it seems they're selling games on "game cards" - which appear to be nothing more than standard SD cards. I don't know who they think they're fooling with that.

The question I have is still the question I've had when the system was first announced:

Can users simply use their own SD card and fill it up with their NeoGeo MVS/AES roms of choice and then load them onto the thing?

I don't care about most of the built in games and they do not interest me alone enough to buy one. Due to the nightmare of licensing, the thing will likely never have all the games I want if I need to buy them individually, and even if they are like $20 a pop, that's still expensive. I'll buy a NeoGeo X only if I am able to put on anywhere NeoGeo games I want, otherwise I'll stick with my modded Xbox and CoinOps5, thank you very much.

No. Unique file format or some such. Though like anything, give it 6 months - 1 year and it'll be cracked wide open.
