So it appears that games will be sold in physical format.  Anyone got one of these and thought about casing games yet?  I'm itching to get my hands on one.

The games are supposed to be cased in SD cards supposedly. I don't have one yet, but I just won a $200 Amazon Gift Card at work so I may grab one.

the extra game for preordering  ( ninja masters ) came packaged  like any other sd card  so im guessing ds or 3ds cases may be the way to go , the system seems pretty solid  about the same size as a vita , the stick is pretty much identicle to a neogeo pocket color ,  i havent  pulled out the joystick and docking station yet but  the system and the docking station both have hdmi ports,  im in the process of cleaning  and once thats done ill hook up the docking station

As someone who knows nothing about Neo Geo or SNK, this looks very cool! And very affordable.

Do we know how much games will cost and where they will be sold?

Why are people falling for this!?

For about the same money you could get a mvs and supergun, most games can be had for around $50, and there's a much larger and better selection...

Come on, Doc. You know this is cool, regardless or whether or not it's the best way to get you hands on Neo Geo games. Also, one word; portable.

I watched the official unboxing and it seems they're selling games on "game cards" - which appear to be nothing more than standard SD cards. I don't know who they think they're fooling with that.

The question I have is still the question I've had when the system was first announced:

Can users simply use their own SD card and fill it up with their NeoGeo MVS/AES roms of choice and then load them onto the thing?

I don't care about most of the built in games and they do not interest me alone enough to buy one. Due to the nightmare of licensing, the thing will likely never have all the games I want if I need to buy them individually, and even if they are like $20 a pop, that's still expensive. I'll buy a NeoGeo X only if I am able to put on anywhere NeoGeo games I want, otherwise I'll stick with my modded Xbox and CoinOps5, thank you very much.

No. Unique file format or some such. Though like anything, give it 6 months - 1 year and it'll be cracked wide open.

Show me a $300 MVS that is also a portable simultaneously. Or heck just a $300 MVS would be incredible.

got mine off the 'bay, with everything needed to consolize it, for £100. remember MVS is the cheaper option, a 1-slot board shouldnt cost more than £100

neo-geo games can be played on PSP, GP32, GP2X, iPhone, Dingoo, etc...

the only cool thing i can see is the arcade stick, apparently its a 1:1 replica of the old/original ones, could be cheaper than buying an original at this point...

The stick is one for one and USB meaning it could be used with emulators as well.

And I was meaning a full on MVS. After buying the housing and everything $300 with the portable included is a ton cheaper than $200 for something in parts and no portable to be seen. Plus games.

Ick, who wants to play Neo Geo on their iPhone :/

That sounds about as much fun as shaving your grundle (look it up, kiddies).

the stick i would tear appart to mod it for my MVS set-up, need a second one, and these (neo geo x) would be slightly cheaper than the originals (probably)

if i wanted to play the games on the go id just download the emu's for psp, no need to buy them, or there's a snk compilation, also on psp.
free or £30 or £200? not really a hard decision for me...

i was just trying to point out that you dont have to spend £200 to play neo geo on the go, i agree playing on ipod/iphone would suck, but you can still do it for cheaper than this thing!

i have absolutely no desire for this whatsoever, utterly utterly pointless IMHO
