You know what, you're right. We should just legalise everything. It all goes on anyway, and doesn't stop anyone doing it. You want to send your kids to a school where the teachers are armed? Really? REALLY? I for one do not want to live in that world. What if the armed and trained teacher has a breakdown and mows down 20 of his own students? Oh no problem, because we just legalised murder, because it goes on anyway!

Oh, and that car thing is just stupid. You can kill someone with a teaspoon if you want, but a teaspoons prime function is not to cause death.

I am not trying to rattle anyone's cage here, I have strong views as do others to the contrary. I am perfectly happy that for this most part this doesn't actually affect' me, and very glad I grew up in a coubtry with strict gun laws, and outside of organised crime, does not have a gun problem!

Wow, did I touch a nerve with some logic there? ::) it's apparent that you have no idea what liberty and freedom are -- you can do what you want as long as it does not harm another person.

For those in the US that hate our gun laws, why not move to a country where you can live with those that hate guns? Being anti-gun is about as un-american as it gets, seeing as that's exactly how we were founded. Could you imagine our founders trying to lead a revolution with no guns?

And a side note, for anyoen that believes that only our govt and military should have firearms because they are looking out for us and will do what right, ever heard of Fast & Furious? And I don't mean the movie either..

I'm British. We 'discovered' and colonised vast areas of the globe. Shock, horror, we used guns. We went to war. But, I don't need a gun in 2012. The rest of the civilised world agrees.

You didn't hit any logic nerve, as you made no logical sense to me.

As I said above - I am glad this has no real effect on me, but your 'logic' does scare the shit out of me.

I think the comparison between Drug/ Alcohol bans and Gun bans is a bad one, It is easier to make Drugs/ Beer than a gun. Marijuana - Just plant it in dirt, water it, and care to it, bag it up and sell it. A gun requires a lot more work and materials that have to be perfect in order to work and would be a lot harder to to do in a small scale. It may be posable, but the gun would be very expensive to purchase. I think a bomb would be easier to make. I do not know a lot about how to make guns and what-not, but I'm sure its harder than gardening.

And a gun is not going to protect us ageist the government if it decides to attack us, they have drones, missiles, tanks, and much more powerful firepower than your puny little gun.

While I do not think a ban of guns is what we should do, I think we should have stricter laws on who is able to have them and how powerful they are, you do not need a rocket launcher.

Wait, not liking something makes me unamerican? Thats as logical as saying to be British you have to like tea and soccer. All nations were founded with guns, its not going to stop. We just need to limit who has access to guns, work hard to make sure that these real WMDs do not fall into the wrong hands. Like any tool, guns are not inherently evil, its how it is used and we as a society need to make sure that guns are used PROPERLY.

Guns really just make a man a wuss, sissified. Unwilling to fight like a man in a proper brawl...always reaching for his gun for the smallest of issues, ready to kill.
