Would be nice, since I read his intent was to get HQ scans of everything hence why he built the collection. Could practically finish our snes needs lol .

Messaged him on ebay and asked if he had scans and wouldn't mind sharing =)

It's byuu.

http://www.nintendoage.com/forum/messageview.cfm?catid=6&threadid=90879

I was just going to say the same.   I've messaged him asking if there was any chance he'd like to share some of his scans with this site.  Apparently, he's scanned everything already, and is providing the scans to SNESCentral.  He seems like a really busy guy.

I know he's currently on a mission to get scans of all Japanese boxes, and Euro stuff.  So maybe if enough people here can help him out with that stuff, he'd be more receptive to helping some of us out here with SNES raw scans... :)

update he responded to my ebay message -

Dear madrocsz,

I don't have the bandwidth to share them, they are 60GB total.

But you can check with Evan at snescentral.com, he has them and will be posting them.

Like I said to Sneak when he first mentioned this to me few days ago, we should ask if byuu would create Mediafire account and uploadf them there.
Mediafire is 50gigs free space at the moment.

Got a response from Evan , he said the versions he had were only 300 dpi which he then downscales to 100 dpi for his site purposes. He said for me to ask byuu if he would share.

Kind of at a stalemate as both referred me to each other.

Wish we could borrow those covers and do our thing. He'd end up with WAY nicer scans I bet. Plus, with a chunk of us cranking away at them, we'd get them done in no time.

Actually just looked up his location. He's like 2-3 hours from me. Wonder if he'd let me come down with a hard drive and copy the files...

Heeeh.... I thought about emailing him and asking him if he could scan his covers for us.

We do not need every cover, ask for the ones we do not have, lowers file size.

Dunno, maybe lol

he said its like 60gb for all his high-res covers but seems neither of them are hosting them etc so might be an option to physically go get them

It would be too much a PITA to just get the ones we need when all of the files are right there, it could also clean up probably many of those we have that are rough. Imagine, every snes cover ... yummy

Exactly. No sense in sorting through them while there. Connect hard drive, copy folder, shoot the shit for 5 minutes, done. Plus, like you said, there may be better scans for some of our existing covers.

If I'm gonna drive 3 hours for 30 or so GB, why not just grab the whole 60GB?

Someone wanna shoot this guy an email on my behalf?

I wouldn't be able to up them all in one shot since it would pretty much suck up my monthly upload bandwidth limit, but I'd gladly burn some DVDs and shoot em out to folks who wanna get started on em.

I just sent him a message on ebay through the item, he answered pretty quickly, also it would probably be weird for me to message him saying "hey this other guy wants to drive to your place" lol
