I have been thinking of some ways to make my collection look better lately and here are a couple ideas I wanted to see if anybody else liked or could make better.
I thought maybe it would be cool to have the spine (or whole template) match the color of the cartridge inside. This would probably look weird with all in alpha order but for people like TheN64Guy who have a complete collection and are looking for variants it could help distinguish which copy is in the case.

I also thought it would be cool to make some labels that were pixelated. I thought of custom art or just quickly pixelating the original art like this

It would probably look better with just the image pixelated and not the logos but I just put this together pretty quickly. Any thoughts?

No offense but I detest the pixilated label. It is illegible and doesn't even look good. Buuuut that is my personal opinion. Though I will say the cover looks good.

Sorry to be an ass lol.

The label may work if you do it in the style of the old NES black boxes.

Does this make it look better in your opinion? Should I look for something that is completely different than the original instead?

I can't say I like either idea. However, I recommend doing what you like for yourself. If you want your own collection to look like that... then go for it! The only thing that matters is pleasing yourself.

Just think twice about putting those stickers on your carts, as it will devalue them beyond belief.

I know, I was thinking more of some that have torn labels or keeping the originals and putting these on some cheap sports games.

Seems like nobody likes the pixel one but how about these:

I know the rating is wrong on Perfect Dark, just trying to get an idea what looks good before I perfect them.

The idea of pixel art for the labels isn't a bad one. However, creating attractive pixel art takes WAY more than reducing the resolution of an existing work in Photoshop.  WAY more.

Unless you wanna create a bunch of art from scratch, then I would skip it.

I like the customs though :D

I know the pixels looked bad, I toyed with the idea of doing custom pixel stuff but it still didn't look that good. I put the customs on some carts and liked how you did the colored carts for N64Guys Conker and Beast Wars so I did that here as well.

I know I still forgot to change the ratings but otherwise I think it turned out pretty well.

I really like those! Especially the perfect dark cart.

I do have a question though, why is Bowser red?

He's actually more orange, you can tell a few posts up where it is bigger. I found it online and didn't even mess with the color If I'm not mistaken he was more orange in Super Mario 64 (maybe not?) but is yellow now.
The perfect dark art is from the Japanese cover which is way better in my opinion than the the close up face of the in game model on the US cover and I think the black cartridge really makes it stand out.

Do like!

I foresee a shortage of colored N64 sports games in the near future.
