Decided to change the name of the topic since there are a whole lot of Japanese Super Nintendo games that could use the same treatment.

Here's a few more games I think would be cool to see with the japanese vertical artwork, but with translated text.

Some can use the treatment more than others, but most were designed vertical in the first place, so I think they might make or better Vertical cases.
SUPER NINTENDO

U.N. Squadron

(No Source Image) The Japanese game has art from the anime area 88, so this one seems like a must compared to what we got.

Star Fox

Beautiful artwork, and seeing it makes the american art seem empty by comparison.

Lengend of zelda: A Link to the Past
http://www.thecoverproject.net/view.php?cover_id=8032

Not nearly as basic as the american art, but could make an interesting box.

Super Mario RPG

I never realized, but I think the japanese box art for super mario RPG is a parody of Chrono trigger!

How cool would it be to have these cases side by side?

Well these are all just ideas, no need to work on them right away. Just seems to make more sense to use the japanese art for vertical cases when it's already there, just waiting for people to use it.

Same goes for Nintendo 64 boxes. I think Donkey Kong 64 for example looks pretty cool.

Wow, that looks amazing.  :o

Should we keep the japanese text under the title?

Here's the cover without the Japanese text.

I will fix up the last two covers Chrono Trigger and Star fox tomorrow. Then I plan to stop making covers for a while and to make a retro gaming review blog.

Found another case that needed this treatment badly. Soul blazer for the Super Nintendo got a castle as it's american box art...a castle.

Here's a link to the Super Famicom Equivalent which looks more fitting.

I think it would be a good candidate for a vertical case.

Just as a curiosity: The back of the cover you linked is not from Soul Blazer (Blader in Japan), but from Jyutei Senki (http://www.gamefaqs.com/snes/570965-jyutei-senki/images/box-9164)... Don't know how the cover passed the filters to get uploaded.

Wow, I never noticed that either. I guess the upload regulations were much more lax back then.

I don't have any issues with people using the covers I have made for personal use. It annoys me when you request a cover to be make so, you can resale it.
