I've seen a few individuals via youtube try but none of the shells look like a Neptune case.

When wiggy was working on his SNES Mini replacement shell project, a few of us pestered him about possibly making a Sega Neptune, or better yet, a Sega Neptune CD (Gen + 32X + CD, likely using a CDX as the base).

That project hit some snags, but I believe once he gets it going again, the Neptune is on his shortlist. I'm sure he could find a way of making a case similar to the prototype Neptune design.

I have one.  Bought it from a dude on Sega-16.com forum.  You should post about it there, there are several tech savvy dudes there that can no doubt help you out.

I have zero plans to make a Neptune shell at the moment. There's absolutely no way I'd ever recoup even my development time in CAD let alone manufacturing costs, even if I'm doing them one at a time on a 3D printer.  Unless I could find about 20+ folks willing to pay around 350-400 bucks for a shell, and nothing else, then I don't see it happening.  I would build one if someone wanted using a Saturn shell or something hand made, but expect it to be pretty damned expensive. That would suck up a serious chunk of time.

 I don't think I can even make the SNES mini shell profitable and have decided to do the SNES phat instead considering that the use base is easily 20 times as large plus the fact that so many have shells that are yellow and chipped to hell (meaning the there's a reason other than aesthetics to own one).

Ah, sorry. It wasn't my intention to speak for you, I was just passing on the good word about you and your design skills. I actually wasn't aware that that was why you stopped the SNES Mini reshell project.

But, I know that in an ideal money-free world, you of anyone could make a damn good Neptune shell.  8)

Sure, the homemade Neptune's are cool, but I have a really nice condition model 2 Genesis with a nice condition 32X plugged in, and I think it's a great looking console setup as is.

here we are;

looks alright from the front...

told you it looks a little shit round the back...

that bunch of wires is for A/V and power, so it only needs 1 power supply

when its set-up properly you cant see round the back anyway!

Hey not bad!

thanks!,

maybe one day i'll go all 'longhorn engineer' and fit the whole lot into the MD2 shell, but i have like 6 or 7 project ideas already in various stages of planning or WIP, and its not like i need to, what i have plays fine even if it doesnt look fine (from the back...)!
