--- Quote from: Moviefan2k4 on December 03, 2012, 02:54:52 PM ---My uncle made his point very clear one year, when he was shopping at a local retailer. He told the sales clerk "Merry Christmas", and she replied with "Happy Holidays". He said again, "Merry Christmas", and she said, "We're not allowed to say that." Without another word, he simply walked out, leaving everything behind. According to him, some of the other shoppers overheard the conversation, and clapped for him on his way out the door.

That's a really valid point. When faced with someone who insists that you wish them a Merry Christmas, one should always make sure to appease them, regardless of how it might affect one's employment status, or disagree with one's own beliefs.  We should be allowed to assert our beliefs, no matter who it may offend, and in the same stroke, deny some else their own. Bravo!

He should probably write a letter to the retailer's president exclaiming his disgust for their current inclusive greeting policy and insist that an exclusive greeting be implemented in its stead.

I'm not advocating the forcing of anyone's religion on another, but the so-called "inclusiveness" is arbitrary at best. Like it or not, Christmas is based primarily on Christ. If someone doesn't like it, that's fine, but Christians should not be singled out for wanting to keep the rights they already have. When was the last time you saw tons of folks getting mad over a Hanukkah or Kwanza display? Its the same leftist crap that results in ridiculous lawsuits over the Ten Commandments or Pledge of Allegiance.

Not sure what the 10 commandments suits you are talking about, but the pledge I kinda do have a small problem with, and not just because the schools are forcing me to say God exists, This video sums it up fairly well

Bu you know what?

FUCK POLITICS! CHISTMAS TIME IS HERE AGAIN

Can a mod maybe move that stuff to another thread so we can talk more about trees and shiny things?

Non-Christians should also not be singled out for wanting to keep the rights they already have.

You're like the master of completely disregarding everyone else, and it's BEYOND tired.

So, they aren't terribly exciting yet, but here they are nonetheless.

Larry, sorry that they aren't shiny yet :(

It's ok Wiggy, Knowing you, it will be soon.

So whats on everyone holiday media list. Such as Songs, movies, games ect.

For my music list, I ofcorse got the Beatles X-mas stuff, such as "Christmas Time Is Here Again" "Happy X-Mas (The War Is Over)" "Wonderful Christmas Time" and Ringo's X-mas album. There are also songs by rubber Band and The Fab Four taking X-mas songs and turning them into Beatle songs.
There is also this parody of "Wonderful Christmas Time"

I'm also going to try and find all the old holiday episodes of Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network shows. I love the old holiday themed promos. I think I had a Ren and Stimpy music CD somewhere.

Agreed, but there's a difference: Christmas is founded on Christ. If someone wants to celebrate it for other reasons, let them, but people need to quit complaining just because a cross, picture of Jesus, or the Ten Commandments are on public display. You hardly ever see as much controversy over a menorah, star of David, or pictures of Santa Claus. The Constitution describes a freedom of religion, not from it.

I'm not ignoring other faiths, but the last thing the U.S. needs is more fuel for creating a Christ-free society. I love other elements of the Christmas season, but I don't lose sight of the truth behind it.
