My uncle made his point very clear one year, when he was shopping at a local retailer. He told the sales clerk "Merry Christmas", and she replied with "Happy Holidays". He said again, "Merry Christmas", and she said, "We're not allowed to say that." Without another word, he simply walked out, leaving everything behind. According to him, some of the other shoppers overheard the conversation, and clapped for him on his way out the door.

As for other aspects of the Christmas season, I really love most of the music, both standards and contemporary. My fave is probably Bobby Helms' "Jingle Bell Rock". One song that constantly gets on my nerves is George Michael's version of "Last Christmas".

Movie-wise, I'd say one of my faves is the original "Santa Clause". The second was OK, but the third sucked. I also love "The Muppet Christmas Carol", "Ernest Saves Christmas", Jim Carrey's "The Grinch", and 2005's "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe".

Best christmas movie ever: Christmas Vacation

Hmmmm.... Sorry but I don't get it. Why should someone be not allowed to say merry christmas?

Some cultures find it offensive that the company only caters to the christian christmas.
Were jewish people would say happy hanukkah and muslams culture they do not celebrate it as its not in the koran.

Well, since there's nothing inherently wrong with the celebration of Christmas, I don't care if someone gets offended, so long as I'm not being malicious about it. Christians in the first few centuries decided to redeem the month of December from the pagan winter solstice festivals, by celebrating Jesus' birth instead. Like what was said in that clip I posted, "most people celebrate Christmas, even if they disagree with the religion behind it".

That's me. I'm a atheist and I celebrate it. I do not understand why people wont let people show their holiday spire. Why don't you go to their birthday party and hide any references to them. I remember I had to a non-x-mas x-mas card in a middle school art class once.

I had a picture of a Ringo Starr figure on top of my tree one year but I think I lost it.
