Agreed, but I really don't give it much thought. If I offend someone by saying Merry Christmas, I really don't care. They can go suck a chode and baste themselves in thier own missery.
My uncle made his point very clear one year, when he was shopping at a local retailer. He told the sales clerk "Merry Christmas", and she replied with "Happy Holidays". He said again, "Merry Christmas", and she said, "We're not allowed to say that." Without another word, he simply walked out, leaving everything behind. According to him, some of the other shoppers overheard the conversation, and clapped for him on his way out the door.
As for other aspects of the Christmas season, I really love most of the music, both standards and contemporary. My fave is probably Bobby Helms' "Jingle Bell Rock". One song that constantly gets on my nerves is George Michael's version of "Last Christmas".
Movie-wise, I'd say one of my faves is the original "Santa Clause". The second was OK, but the third sucked. I also love "The Muppet Christmas Carol", "Ernest Saves Christmas", Jim Carrey's "The Grinch", and 2005's "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe".
