Willing to submit Genesis Raws - HELP
(1/2) > >>
Megatron:
Hello!  I have a few Genesis covers that I can scan and put on here.  I'd love it if someone could make red label genesis box covers for them, but I am happy to submit them regardless.  Thing is, I could use some advice for scanning.  If anyone has any helpful tips, I can try to get them on here ASAP.  For instance, should I scan the cover, back and side as 3 different files?  Or should I scan the whole thing at once (seeing as it's genesis and all one sleeve)?  PS, I have looked around and read some forum guides for scanning, but am pretty dull when it comes to computers, so some terms go over my head.

The covers I have are:  Batman, Batman Returns, James Bond 007: The Duel, Super Baseball 2020 , Spider-Man/Xmen Arcades Revenge, T2 the arcade game and Super Wrestlemania - All games are American Versions

Thanks!

You can scan the cover in one piece.

Short to do list:

- Put the cover between hard cover book that is bigger than the cover and sit on it few minutes to flatten it.
- Place the cover on the scanner bed as straight as possible (remember scanners might not scan near the edges so put the cover either bit away from the edge or put the edge of the cover that has nothing important next to the edge odf scanner).
- Put heavy hard cover book on the cover. Book should be bigger than the cover, but not too big so it rests on the edges of the scanner. Add some extra weight SO THE SCAN IS SUPER HYPER DUPER FLAT.
- Scan @450-600DPI with moire removal on if possible, other than that the less filters the better usually.

Hope this helps.

Thanks!  One question...do I change the DPI on the scanner of on the computer?

Scanner.

DO NOT ADJUST DPI AFTER SCANNING!
It's better to have unaltered raws. ;)

Hey guys!

So I am really trying to get these scans to come out right.  I have scanned at 600 dpi and tried to get them as flat as possible, but they still looked a little washed out.  Any suggestions on how to improve it?

Here is a sample of the covers I scanned

These are the options I have for scanning.  I have altered the dpi and removed as many filters as I can, but don't know if I'm on the right settings
