I picked all this up yesterday. Got some really great deals. A lot of buy 1 get 1 half off. Sweet! Though I'm dissapointed that the newer Wiis arnt backwards compatible, at least from my perspective. It doesn't have a slot for NGC controllers or memory cards, yet when you go to the system data management menu it shows the memory card there and that you can play NGC games also? I'm confused... But anyway here's the pic. |

Gimped Wiis really suck. :/ Good thing I still have my precious Red Wii. <3 |

Nice man! That's not your first Wii, right? You have any plans for it? Like a soft mod or something? --- Quote from: sheep2001 on December 07, 2012, 12:01:37 PM --- --- Quote from: wiggy on December 07, 2012, 03:14:22 AM ---Game City is WAAAAAY overpriced, but it's not like he's actually paying those prices ;) Grabbed one of these. http://i86.photobucket.com/albums/k99/wiggyx/E52C0017-114B-458B-AEA6-0A55FC33D3AF-3353-000002854147AC45.jpg Already annoyed by its shape... http://i86.photobucket.com/albums/k99/wiggyx/66176EC2-46E9-4DCB-AC97-B0A32C2D7163-3353-0000028546019F0E.jpg --- End quote --- Interested to see how that one pans out Wiggy, i've got one too, and despise the shape. --- End quote --- So far so good! Thank goodness the d-pad and face button layout matches up perfectly with the original controller. Never woulda guessed by looking it it. However, the Start and Select buttons don't match up at all. I thought about cutting and splicing that part of the board, but decided that I'd just go with momentary micro switches that I'll mount into modified OEM silicone button/contact combo (you can see them wired up there for testing since it requires both to sync the stupid thing). I think the retrobit shoulder button contact boards will actually work in the SNES controller. The little boards are the same width an height, so I can't see why not. Haven't wired em up yet because I need the opening so I can connect the AC adapter to give the thing power for now. The hardest part so far is getting the retrobit board lined up with the buttons. Of course it doesn't fit exactly like the original board, so I have to somehow mark it once I have it perfect to take the guessing out of it. The board has to be moderately modified. Lots of notching, at some places into the board itself which required some crafty re-wiring on the traces for 2 of the screw bosses to pass through the board, a chunk out of the transceiver by the antenna portion of the board, but barely into the metal itself. If it has a hard time, then I'll just add a little wire extension. The only other spots are in the lower portion under the D-pad and face buttons. Nothing that required any re-wiring, just a dremel and some silicon flying all over the place LOL! Spent about 2 hours so far. Once I have it all sorted out, it shouldn't take long at all to replicate. The only the f that requires a little more thinking effort is getting a rechargable battery I there. I have the parts to make it happen, just need to figure out where I'm gonna put a charge port and the parts. Then it's just a matter of moving the power switch (prolly use an on-off push button versus the slide style that came with it) and the power LED, which annoys the hell outta me on the face of the thing. This is right as I started to have to re-wire a bit. There are 3-4 more wires now as I cut further into the board. Still, not that much work really. This notch is a about 3 times as large now and all those traces on the right of the notch are gone, so you can see what I mean about the re-wiring. Gonna try and finish it up later minus the rechargable battery stuff. That'll take a little more work than I have time for today. I'll post updates in either the Rose Colored thread or ye olde "Holy Crap" ;D |

I haven't posted any pickups for a while because most of the stuff I bought were to be resold, not for my collection. Here are a couple things I got in the last few days. So far I'm not that impressed with the Hori Mini, I think it's too small for my hands. I have been using Mako/Super Pad+ for a few months now and those seem much more comfortable. Conker CIB for as cheap as just carts are going for right now This was a Black Friday purchase for only $14.99 |
