I dunno why anyone would get that when you can get Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection for PS3 or Xbox 360 for less than the thing costs.

Maybe because they're two totally different products?

I have Sonic's Ultimate Genesis collection. I bought it just to get achievements. I have most of the games on cartridges. I bought this for fun, nothing more. I'll probably put away my real Genesis and use this. Plus, half the SEGA games built in this system aren't on that Genesis Collection. On top of that, you can play Genesis games via AV cables without the rainbow colored screen (most gamers will know what that means).

After some research it seems the genesis console we are discussing doesn't allow the ability to save games. Bummer

Seems like a big deal breaker.

Got to go spend some $$$$ since X-mas shopping is all done.  Grabbed the following....

Shining the Holy Ark complete (Saturn) - $20
Record of Agarest War Zero complete (360) - $15

NES games for a total of $6.00
Dr. Mario
Excitebike
Golf
Kung Fu
R.C. Pro-Am
StarTropics
Tennis

Trying to rebuild my NES collection I sold off some 10 years ago.
Can someone compare the Shining the Holy Ark Saturn game to some other RPGs that it may be most similar too.

Shining the Holy Ark... That's one of my favorite games. It's such an underrated JRPG and for only $20, that's a steal. It's a first person RPG, much like Shining in the Darkness. It's similar to Etrian Odyssey for DS.

Like the pre-loaded stuff or carts too?

There are really only a handful of Genesis games with a save feature anyway.

Just picked up Super Mario All-Stars PAL cart only for 30,50 PLN (~$10) with shipping, which is the cheapest I've seen this game in Poland. Will post picture when the cart arrives.

Pre load and regular apparently. Sucks for rpgs etc. Half tempted food get one and try and retrofit the wireless controllers on a regular genesis. Wonder if it's even possible

Damn, that's weak.

I bet it'd be really tough to transplant the wireless.  I'm willing to bet that the hardware is integrated into the board :(

Well, hopefully these don't end up as January pickups (since I'm DYING to play them).   We'll see how quickly Canadian post decides to move...
